What an amazing Christmas Season we had here at Bethany Home Brandon! We set up our Christmas village, we played and sang along to Christmas Music Bingo with Kiah, the Klassen Family sang beautifully, Brandon Valley American Sign Language class with their choir and string orchestra caroled for us, Brandon Valley Jazz band and Garretson Middle School band played, Maggie in the Meantime's group Flower and Flame acted and played the Christmas Carol, and we had an amazing Christmas Meal made by Bethany's Dietary Team. This is just a tidbit of what we did in December. Thank you to everyone who made Christmas such a wonderful and merry time for our residents!

Our wonderful resident Barb got to Live the Dream this week along with her sisters Carol and Donna, and our team member and friend Jenny.
At Bethany, we have created a program called Living the Dream. In this initiative, we select one of our residents and curate a special experience that resonates with their passions from before they joined our community. For Barb, a passion for the culinary arts has always been a significant part of her life. Crafting recipes and dishes for herself and her loved ones brings her immense joy and pride. Additionally, she has a deep appreciation for art and is quite the talented artist in her own right. This week, we took her to the Washington Pavilion Visual Arts Gallery, where she rediscovered her passion for art. She enjoyed a remarkable culinary experience at Maribella Ristorante, savoring an exquisite meal while receiving a warm welcome from Riccardo, the owner, along with the outstanding staff.

Happy Retirement to our Environmental Services Director, Dan Brown! Dan has been with Bethany Home Brandon since it opened in 2012. From fire drills to tornado warnings he has managed to keeping our residents feeling safe in their home. He has been an incredible leader to our maintenance, laundry, and housekeeping staff. Because of him and his team, Bethany always looks welcoming and beautiful. Dan has created such a wonderful friendship with residents, and staff. We are sad to see him go but we're also excited for this new adventure of his. Happy Retirement and Good Luck with the Hot Dog Stand! 😉

Bethany Home Brandon's Employee of the Month goes to Desirae Dahms!
Desirae is a shining light to our Bethany Home Brandon team! Her vibrant personality, happy-to-help attitude, and contagious smile are such a blessing on any neighborhood that she is assigned. Des is incredibly flexible in her work. She is always willing to work anywhere and complete any task. (which may include cleaning out quesadilla makers after quesadilla day…) Des is a great Medication Aide and CNA who is able to juggle her tasks and assure that her residents’ medications are given appropriately and assist with their ADLs and help her co-workers! Our residents love to visit with Desirae and know that they’re in good hands when she is helping them with their daily tasks. We are very thankful to have Des on our Bethany Home Brandon team!
