I just got a job offer to move to Alaska and work in the prisons for 120,000 a year. Currently living in SD - cold enough here, think I will pass.
Finding quality mental health services is becoming harder and harder.

Monday Moment to Educate

I get asked a lot—“Can we do both ABA and therapy and individual therapy with you?”

My answer? I don’t take clients currently in ABA.
Why? Because my approach is different, focused on emotional safety, trust, and individual strengths. Another reason is that insurance will only pay for one or the other. I know as a parent, you have to make many difficult decisions trying to navigate the health care system.

Too many therapies at once can make it hard to know what’s truly working.
I believe in clarity, consistency, and using approaches that feel supportive to both the individual and the family.

My methods are gentle, empowering, and often less overwhelming for everyone involved—and I’ve seen incredible results.

Your time is valuable. Choose what aligns best with your family’s values.

Have you ever started your day overwhelmed?

I need a visual list. Here is one method:

Start with the how and what tasks

Step 1: Brain Dump – Write down everything you know about your topic or task.

Relax and try and think about life experiences and examples.

Step 2: Create Sections – Break it into smaller parts:
☐ Introduction
☐ Main Points (I always use bullet lists)
☐ Conclusion

Step 3: Set Mini-Deadlines – Work in 30-45 min focus blocks with breaks the number of breaks is up to you. It’s ok if you take a break for 5 minutes every 30 minutes.

Step 4: Edit – Focus on content first, then grammar later.

I myself use the dictation option in Word – for text dictation. It is free and relatively easy.

Bellow in the comments, you will find a worksheet I like to use.

The 3 G’s of Grief: Grief, Guilt, and Grace
Grief often comes with an unexpected companion—guilt.
The "I should have," "I wish I had," and "if only" thoughts can be overwhelming. It’s natural to reflect on missed moments and things left unsaid.
But the third G is just as important: Grace.
Give yourself the same kindness you would offer a friend. Grief is hard enough. You don’t have to carry guilt. You loved them, and they knew it. Let grace be part of your healing.
If you're struggling with grief, you're not alone. Be gentle with yourself.

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year.
Main goals for 2025 - do a few creative activities for myself.
The goal always is do a little better, give a little more, have healthy boundaries, try and be patient and practice Grace.

Executive Functioning
How to Make Decision-Making Easier

Take Your Time: If you’re feeling pressured to make a choice, it’s okay to ask for more time. Let others know that you need a few minutes to think things through.
Break Down the Decision: Divide the decision into smaller parts. What’s the most important factor? Can you decide on one piece before moving to the next?
Repeat the Plan: After a decision is made, repeating it out loud can be incredibly helpful. Whether you're by yourself or with a partner, saying the plan out loud makes it clear and helps avoid confusion. It also ensures that both people understand what’s going to happen next.
Be Understanding: If someone in your life makes quick decisions or blurts out answers, try to remember that it’s not meant to sound rude or selfish. The brain is working hard behind the scenes, and sometimes decisions happen fast. By repeating the decision and plan, you can both stay on the same page.
