Today I write this post as a person and not an Audiologist educating on hearing loss and hearing aids. Today marks the anniversary the United States was changed forever. Yesterday was a reminder that our country and world are headed in the wrong direction.

Some days in our office we spend 10 minutes for the reason (s) why the patient is there regarding their hearing loss or aids, and the rest of the time discussing things that are not related. More and more we hear comments in the office like “why are awful things are happening in the world and they seem to be getting worse?” You can see the stress and burden people carry every day. The truth is, God gave us free will, this goes all the way back to the garden of Eden. We are free to make decisions, but the question is, are they decisions that honor God?

When Greg and I started this business, we agreed that we serve others first. It is known that the foundation of our business is the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior. Without him, we know we have nothing. Yes, we help improve quality of life through diagnosing and treating hearing loss, but what comes with that, is the responsibility to take it a step further and to help those struggling outside of their hearing difficulties.

Once in a while you will see Bill in our office. He is a pastor and good friend. You will also see a Bible on our waiting room coffee table. You will see us pray for those who need it, request it, and for those who are struggling emotionally and physically. When they are ready, we help them make Jesus the Lord of their lives. We've saved those who were months away from meeting their maker, which gives us comfort they are with Him in eternity. We also have helped those figure out how ease the strongholds they have been carrying for so long through Jesus.

The current world is not the world Jesus intended us to have. He has laid it all out in the Bible. Jesus is coming to regain his kingdom, but before he does that, he wants you to decide if you are going to make him your Lord and Savior; the one that took the strikes on his back, the sword in his side, the mocking of his name, the nails in his wrists to forgive your sins. The One who was raised from the dead for you to offer everlasting life if you accept it. It is surprising that once you receive acceptance, how different you will see the world and how much better it is to deal with the burdens thrown at you. You do not want to wait any longer to decide because He has a schedule; the time is drawing near.

As we wait for His coming, we remember and pray for those who were taken from us far too soon on that dark September day 24 years ago and we pray the same for yesterday's events for comfort to their loved ones for the devasting losses. I pray for the safety of each and everyone of us and the United States of America. I also pray that each one of us finds our way to the Lord and gets excited for the day he takes us with him for eternity and the day we will be reunited with our loved ones we lost. Revelation 1:7 "Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him.

Dr. Rounseville-Norgaard and her twin sister were diagnosed with hearing loss at the age of three. Dr. Rounseville-Norgaard has worn hearing aids since.
