South Dakota has become the first state to ensure that all Conservation Officers have received "Stop the Bleed" training, a critical initiative aimed at equipping officers with lifesaving emergency response skills.

This achievement was made possible through the leadership of trauma care professionals, including Dr. Dustin Smoot, ACS COT State Vice Chair, whose expertise and dedication played a pivotal role in the success of this program.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Smoot for his leadership and commitment to enhancing public safety in South Dakota. His efforts have helped set a new national standard for emergency preparedness among Conservation Officers.
