Now that my massage career has ended, I sit and reflect over the last 27 years. I am truly thankful and grateful as I think about being a part of your healthcare team and thank you for your years of support!
We have also formed interpersonal relationships. I have watched your babies grow up and now your babies are having babies. I have walked beside you during your times of greatness and your times of struggle. I have felt your joys, anxiety, fears, and sadness as my hands touched you, and I have grown as a person and learned something from every guest on my table. These bonds cannot be broken.
I also appreciate the cards, gifts, and words of wisdom that you have given me as I step away from my industry. I am looking forward to opening your cards this weekend. Thank you again for the years of professional and personal support. Much love and peace to you!
I would like to thank a few people that helped make Exhale Massage Therapy such a success.
Trevor, thank you for the business advice you have given me throughout the years, your patience with the early morning alarms, the lunchtime doggo let outs so that I could stay at work, doing extra house work, making supper, hauling massage linens to the laundry room, and for the exquisite hand crafted “exhale” art/sign that you gifted me with upon opening. Thank you for your love and believing in me even when I did not believe in myself.
Dad, thank you for teaching me work ethic. I grew up in a shop (Dad opened his own tractor and farm machinery repair business when I was three) and I learned at an early age how to push a broom, wash windows, paint projects, steer tractors, and run for parts. I also saw the long hours, sacrifices and difficult decisions dad had to make and what he missed so his customers would remain happy and loyal, and he could support a family of four. I understand now, dad. (At almost 81 he is still working 6 days a week and running circles around us young punks.)
Holly, thank you for being my human google. Almost any question I have, you can answer or lead me in the right direction. Your wisdom and knowledge have been a great asset to me throughout the years. You have also hand delivered snacks, treats and green teas to the office to keep my body fueled. You are amazing, Holly! Keep being you!
Tony and Jennifer, thank you for not only being wonderful landlords and providing this beautiful office space to rent, but also for being such kind human beings. I appreciate you!
As for me, I have no idea what the next chapter will bring, but I am excited to see what else I have to offer the world. Until the next thing finds me, I will be content with the mundane. I look forward to not being in a dark room every day, not folding sheets, eating when I want to eat, p*eing when I want to p*e, wearing my ring and maybe even growing my nails out. I want to sit in the quiet of the morning sipping coffee while my golden retriever holds my hand. I want to take early morning walks when the earth is starting to get light and the birds are chirping, and trees are rustling. I want to spend more time with my hands in the dirt and my feet on the golf course, and I want to take some time to simply………. Exhale.
