Our students stepped into that. Completing their CPR and First Aid training as part of becoming not just skilled therapists, but prepared and capable professionals.

Because in this field, it’s not only about what you do on the table… it’s about how you show up when it matters most.

We had a great time connecting with students yesterday at the SEFP Regional Career Fair!

Events like this are one of our favorite ways to be involved in the community and introduce students to the many opportunities within the massage therapy profession. From discussing anatomy and hands-on learning to talking about career paths in health and wellness, it’s always inspiring to meet young people exploring their future.

Thank you to Parker School for hosting such a well-organized event and inviting us to be part of it. We appreciate the chance to share what we do and answer questions about the field of massage therapy.

Yesterday we wrapped up an incredible hands-on training in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD).
— a specialized technique that supports the body’s natural detox process, reduces swelling, and promotes overall immune health.

Thirteen dedicated therapists are now certified in MLD, ready to bring this gentle yet powerful modality to their future clients! 🌿

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a light, rhythmic technique that helps move lymph fluid through the body. Supporting recovery, circulation, and balance.

We’re so proud of this group for diving deep into advanced bodywork education and adding another skill to their growing toolbox. 💪

🧑‍🎨➡️💀 From Clay to Anatomy!

Who says learning muscles has to be boring? Our students got their hands messy (literally) building the human body—one clay muscle at a time. 💪🎨

Clay anatomy isn’t just about sculpting-it’s about truly understanding how muscles layer, connect, and work together. By building them piece by piece, our future massage therapists get a deeper (and stickier 👀) grasp of the human body.

And let’s be honest… some of these skeletons ended up with pretty epic facial hair.

💛 “Be the reason someone blooms.” 🌻
Hey everyone! I’m Sierra, the hands-on massage therapy instructor here at South Dakota School of Massage Therapy. Today was a big day—our final student clinic for this group before they take their board exams!

It’s been an honor mentoring these talented, kind-hearted students and watching them grow not just in skill, but in confidence and care for others. They’ve worked hard, showed up, and poured so much into this season.

One student surprised me with this beautiful sunflower painting as a thank-you—he remembered they’re my favorite. 🌻 It even matches the colors in my new home… coincidence or blessing? Either way, I’m touched.

To my students: you’ve left a mark. Your clients felt it, your peers saw it, and I’ll always remember it.
Now go show the world what healing hands and a good heart can do. 💪💆‍♀️

Business Overview

The South Dakota School of Massage Therapy provides comprehensive personalized instruction in a one room schoolhouse holistic approach. This school was founded by Robin Jensen in 1987. After five successful years the school was moved to its current location. In 2018, the school's ownership changed hands. Rebecca Herrmann, A former graduate of the program and owner of Royal Table Massage Therapy and her esteemed colleague and co-owner, Heather Payden-Williams, took on the task of sharing their skills and teaching new students about the career they are passionate about.

This facility has a large classroom, a large technique room, kitchen, library, student office, private office, group room and two bathrooms. Multiple anatomy teaching skeletons and the continually updating library resources keeping students minds on courses only related to massage therapy.

The school is set up to make you the best massage therapist you can be. Keeping classes small, allowing for more one-on-one instruction and tuition that is reasonable and to aid in a schedule that you can live and work with. This program is well established, innovative and hands-on.
