Your health is important did you know?
Cannabis use and fungal infections in a commercially insured population
Researchers examined a large database of health insurance claims and found that people who used ma*****na were three and one-half times more likely than those who didn’t use the drug to have a fungal infection in the year they studied, 2016.

Ma*****na can contain fungal organisms that can cause serious, sometimes fatal infections in people whose immune systems are compromised, such as those with cancer, transplanted organs, or infection with HIV.

While unable to infer causality, with the legalization of both medical and recreational ma*****na and increased use of the drug, the study adds to emerging evidence of this association. Patients with immunocompromised conditions are advised to refrain from using ma*****na.
