Children who have gone through intense trauma, like abuse or the loss of a loved one, benefit greatly from having safe spaces to play, create and relax in.

Thanks to a gift from Panda Cares, the charity affiliated with Panda Express, through the Sanford Health Foundation, a new safe space with art supplies, toys and more was opened at the Sanford Traumatic Stress Treatment Center and the Sanford Children's CARE Clinic. This room gives children in the Fargo region a place where they can feel comfortable, helping them heal and recover.

Learn more about the new Panda Cares Center of Hope:

A donation of more than $200,000 helped create the Panda Cares Center for Hope inside Sanford Fargo's Traumatic Stress Treatment Center.

In places like Mountain Lake, Minnesota, health care providers try to go the extra mile to support the children of their community, and sometimes all that takes is a good book.

Watch how Susan Goodemote, a nurse practitioner, is doing more to care for local children during their well child visits:

Sue Goodemote, NP, brought the Reach Out and Read program to three Sanford Health clinics. Now every child 0-5 leaves with a new book.

"My parents were told multiple times that I wouldn't survive. I was baptized in the hospital. They never thought I was coming home. Deb was part of that care that made sure that I got to come home and then someday have three babies of my own."

Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Deb Koens cared for Josie Folden during her first days of life in 1995. Twenty-eight years later, at the end of 2023, she cared for Josie's third child, Luci, in the same NICU.

"To be able to know that I was fortunate to be able to care for both of them, it kind of makes you feel like this has been a long, successful career," said Koens.

Following nine miscarriages, the Folden family welcomes their third baby and an unexpected reunion in the Sanford USD Medical Center's NICU.

Our Story

Our small, select staff is dedicated to supporting you physical and emotional well being on your journey to parenthood. Dr. Keith Hansen and Dr. Tiffany Von Wald are board certified reproductive endocrinologists and have helped many couples realize their dream of having a baby. They work closely with Angie Schmidt and Shanna Konz, board certified nurse practitioners. The are trained to assist in evaluating and developing treatment protocols to facilitate your care and ensure you receive the most appropriate individual care. The physicians and staff work together to develop a treatment plan that is appropriate for your needs and desires. Our clinic offers a wide range of treatments, which include intrauterine insemination, in-vitro fertilization, and preimplantation genentic testing. Additionally, we also offer care for uterine fibroids, endometriosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome, LGBTQ care, and fertility preservation for cancer diagnosis and other diseases. Our clinic provides other services that include a psychologist for emotional support, a genetic counselor for assessing your family history and risks in pregnancy, and a dedicated patient representative to help with any insurance or billing questions. We look forward to meeting you and helping you on your fertility journey.
