This past year brought many changes and challenges for families, schools, and communities. We know that raising or supporting a child with a disability takes patience, strength, and a caring team. Even when things felt uncertain, you kept going. We see your hard work, your hope, and your courage.

South Dakota Parent Connection stayed true to our mission. For 40 years—and again this year—we continued to help families find answers, understand their rights, and work together with schools and service providers. No matter what changed around us, our commitment to supporting children, youth,
and families in South Dakota did not change.

As we wrap up our 40th anniversary, we are grateful for you.
Thank you for allowing us to walk beside you, learn from you,
and support you.

The holidays are a great reminder of how important it is to slow down, gather with the people we love, and make memories that last. Whether it’s sharing a meal, playing games, or simply talking and laughing together—these moments help us feel connected and supported.

At South Dakota Parent Connection, we believe strong families and caring friends make a big difference, especially for children and youth with disabilities or health needs. When we show up for each other, everyone feels seen, valued, and included. ❤️

🌿 Calling all families of Native American children and youth with different abilities! 🌿

Valerie Husby is starting a new non-profit called Project Nape Wicozani Yuha: Hands that Bring Well-Being. As an adoptive parent of a Native American child with different abilities, she understands how important it is for services and supports to include our culture and traditions.

Please take a few minutes to fill out the short survey found below. Your answers will help shape this project so it truly represents the Native voice.
