Supporting a foster or adoptive family as a grandparent, aunt, uncle, cousin, or friend isn’t always simple. You want to help, but it can feel confusing or overwhelming.

That’s why I’m offering something new for our community: Tending the Root, a half-day workshop created specifically for the family and friends who support foster and adoptive families.

🌱 Building your skills to treat complex trauma
🌱 Supporting the whole clinician—your nervous system, boundaries, and growth
🌱 Helping you show up in the therapy room regulated, grounded, and present

I’m an approved clinical supervisor in South Dakota and currently accepting new supervisees.

✔ Individual: $150/hr
✔ Group: $60/person (3–6 people)

Supervision should strengthen you, not deplete you. 🌿

This week, I got to share some tools for staying regulated as caregivers. Afterwards, this is what a parent sent to me.

I left with a full heart, too. Because this is why I do what I do—supporting caregivers so they can show up with more patience, connection, and resilience. 💜

Whether you're a foster parent, adoptive parent, kinship caregiver, or a biological parent raising a child with trauma or special needs — your experience matters more than you know.

I started The Woven Root to support the people doing the hard, often invisible work of caregiving. But I don’t want to assume what you need — I want to listen first.

So I’ve put together a short, anonymous survey to better understand the realities caregivers are facing and what kinds of supports would actually make a difference.
