📱 When parents scroll, kids act out.

Research found that when parents used their phones more during family meals, their children showed more disruptive behavior. Out of 55 parents observed at a restaurant, 40 were on their devices during dinner.

Our kids are watching—and learning from—how we use technology. Being present matters.

New year, same you—but maybe with slightly more ambitious plans to move your body? January brings the annual tradition of gym memberships, green smoothies, and pretending we'll wake up for 6 AM workouts. But here's the plot twist: exercise actually works wonders for your mental health (even if you're doing it in your pajamas at 9 PM). Join us for a workout with Savannah Dinger from Iron Pearl Fitness, where we'll sweat, laugh, and talk about motherhood, postpartum life, and why mental health is the real New Year's resolution. Plus, Savannah is giving away 50% off personal coaching for one winner—because who couldn't use a little motivation? Follow both Iron Pearl Fitness and EMH to catch the giveaway on 1/15!

Hi, I'm Madison—a licensed social worker and trained s*x therapist. I have a unique role at EMH that's part therapist, part Swiss Army knife. You can basically think of me like a mental health Hannah Montana. You get the best of both worlds.

I had an idea a while ago that I hyperfixated on, and here we are. This journey is heavily influenced by the Try Guys and watching too many Alli Belairs TikToks. For the next year, I'll be trying or retrying something new for the sake of self-care, mental health awareness, and probably a lot of self-deprecation. Never one to not practice what I preach.

Each month, I'll be joined by a community partner, and as we do the new thing, we'll chat about mental health. With each partnership comes a giveaway so you can try something new and be proactive in your self-care. So follow along with me over the next 12 months as I do this. Stay tuned the first month releases tonight—unless you're my client, then please pretend you never saw this.

🎯Today is National Motivation and Inspiration Day, but why are resolutions are so hard to sustain? Because they're built on shame, unrealistic expectations, and outcome-obsession. Instead, try this: identify your core values, set intentions that actually fit your life, and focus on the how you’ll do it. Check out more in our blog and share your 2026 intentional word in the comments below!

When a child is melting down, our instincts can take over — and not always the helpful ones.
We might lecture, rush to fix, or tell them to calm down… but these actually block co-regulation rather than build it.

Let’s talk about what not to do — and what to try instead — so we can truly help a child borrow our calm instead of our chaos.

But he said that he would only play his game for 10 minutes? Even when kids promise that they will hand the screen over when their time is done, kids can have a very difficult time with this task. And this isn't because they lied to you; it is because their brain canot handle the dopamine hit and withdrawal that screens provide.

Remember, readiness isn't about being 'cured' before you start. It's about being prepared to begin the work. A good therapist will meet you where you are and help you build the resources you need.

If you're considering trauma therapy, reaching out for a consultation can help you explore your readiness and options. You don't have to navigate this alone. ❤️
