Last post in this : Many in the Jewish community are experiencing a deep sense of cognitive and emotional dissonance.

Since the attacks on October 7th, expressions of grief, fear, and concern have often been met with dismissal—or worse, blame.
Support for Israel is framed as moral failure.
Concerns about antisemitism are minimized or denied altogether.

This is a form of collective gaslighting.
It destabilizes one’s sense of reality, safety, and identity.
And it can lead to increased anxiety, isolation, and moral confusion.

If you’re feeling disoriented, dysregulated, or emotionally raw—you’re not overreacting.
You’re responding to real, ongoing psychological stress.
You deserve space to process that—without being told you’re the problem.

When Jews express fear or grief right now, we’re told we’re overreacting.
When we point to rising antisemitism, we’re accused of deflection.
When we mourn our dead, we’re told we don’t care about others.

This is gaslighting on a global scale.
And it’s affecting people not just politically—but psychologically.

Being constantly told your pain is illegitimate takes a toll.
Don’t minimize what you’re feeling.
You’re not imagining it. And you’re not alone.

Gaslighting is psychological manipulation that makes you question your reality.
It’s not disagreement—it’s erasure.
It confuses, disorients, and isolates.
It can happen in relationships.
It can happen in families.
It can happen on a global scale.

The drive to numb pain isn’t random. It’s survival.
But when numbing becomes addiction, it starts costing more than it protects. It’s the pain of using that becomes worse than the pain of living life.
In our work, we don’t judge the need to escape. We help you find safer, lasting ways to face life—and stay present in it.

Addiction pulls people away from relationships, values, and most importantly, self! Recovery isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about coming back to who you were always meant to be. And sometimes, the most sacred journey is the one that leads you home.

Live for yourself. If we are too focused on trying to gain acceptance from others true happiness and contentment will be hard to grasp. Live for yourself. Love yourself. Others will love you…for YOU!!!

After spending this week sitting in my own thoughts and pain while also sitting with many of my brothers and sisters, I can attest to the deep sorrow Jews are feeling. Having non Jewish colleagues reach out made me feel less alone. Hearing from others about the texts and phone calls received from non Jewish friends offering support and compassion, I can also attest to the comfort that provided. We are a resilient nation. Knowing that we are not alone in this kind, compassionate, and great country fuels our perseverance. Am Yisroel Chai. Mi K’Amcha Yisroel. G-d Bless America.

A few days before the Purim holiday 2019, my father who had been battling pancreatic cancer for 4.5 years, had a couple of pretty nasty falls. What we didn't fully realize at the time was this was the beginning of the end.

My father's personal mission in life was to make people smile and feel valued. He had an uncanny balance of being serious about life's purpose while simultaneously managing to not take life too seriously. So when my brother approached him about dressing up like a fighter he was more than happy to go with it. He knew he make people smile. That was more important than being embarrassed walking around all bruised.

One year later, to the day, on Purim morning 2020, after 5.5 years of believing every day that he was completely in G-ds hands he returned his soul to his Creator.

With the world in turmoil, I ask you to make sure you make someone smile every day. We can all use it. May it be a merit for peace in the world. May it be a merit for אבי מורי מנשה בן עזריאל יהודה ז'ל.

"This is so last week!"

That's the point. When it comes to standing, supporting, and caring for victims of abuse there's always the now. Trauma lives in the now. Therefore, as long as people are living with their trauma we must remind them that we have not forgotten about them.

Likewise, we must remind perpetrators that we did not forget about them either. We know you're out there. I make you this plea, come forward. There's treatment for you. Yes, you may have to face the consequences of your behaviors. The alternative is that a community of people standing behind your victims will come for you. And I guarantee you, you will face your consequences.
