Our 2025 series of "Asking for a Friend" wrapped up in December with gratitude!

Our December session focused on healthy relationships and the science of gratitude and featured self-care kits for the teens and their friends. Among lots of self-care goodies, the kits included the cards pictured here which feature quotes of encouragement from the teens we've worked with in this year's fantastic series of programs!

Thanks to support from the Skokie Community Foundation and The Education Foundation Supporting the Students of Niles Township, this monthly "Asking for a Friend" 2025 program has provided a safe space for teens to share questions and concerns and receive guidance on mental health and wellness. Open to all teens on a drop-in basis, free of charge, this program is a collaboration between Turning Point Behavioral Health and Skokie Public Library.

The program launches its 2026 program on January 6th @ 4pm @ Skokie Public Library.

Special shout out to Skokie Community Foundation’s 2025 grant sponsors, First Bank Chicago and Haben Funeral Home & Crematory, and all who donate to support Skokie Community Foundation’s grants.

PLEASE NOTE that the Evanston Living Room will open at 1:30 p.m. today, December 8th. The Turning Point Living Room programs in Evanston (311 Elmwood Ave) and Skokie (8324 Skokie Blvd.) both provide free walk-in support for adults in crisis.

We were very happy to join our partners at PEER Services yesterday to cut the ribbon on their wonderful new Mobile Medication-Assisted Recovery van! This van will bring substance use support out into the community. Congratulations to our friends at PEER on this new program!
