Attending the NAMI Legislative Town Hall was a pleasure and an important opportunity to be part of thoughtful conversations around mental health and policy.

We appreciated hearing from legislators who took time to engage with the community:
• Michelle Mussman (Schaumburg)
• Mary Beth Canty (Arlington Heights)
• Tracy Katz Muhl (Northbrook)
• Suzanne Ness (Carpentersville)

Meaningful dialogue like this helps strengthen understanding and advocacy across our region. Thank you to for bringing people together around mental health.

Healing does not follow a straight line. Some days move forward. Some feel still. Some feel challenging. All of it is part of your journey.

Be gentle with yourself this week. You are growing, learning, and doing the best you can.

Remember, you do not have to move through this alone.

It’s Mental Wellness Month, and this week we’re trying Mental Wellness Bingo. 💚

Taking care of your mental health also means taking care of your body. Small moments like stretching, breathing, resting, or stepping outside can help your mind feel more steady too.

Mark the squares as you go through the weekend. There is no goal to finish the whole card and no right way to play. Choose what feels supportive, skip what doesn’t, and come back to it whenever you need a pause.

Save or screenshot this card and check in with yourself along the way. Every small moment of care counts.

January is Mental Wellness Month!🌱🧘‍♀️

Share this with someone who needs this reminder:

Mental wellness is not about starting strong or having everything figured out. It is about noticing what you need, finding support when things feel heavy, and giving yourself permission to move at your own pace.

At NAMI CCNS, we support mental wellness through free education, support groups, and community resources for individuals, families, and caregivers. Whether you are caring for yourself or supporting someone you love, you are not alone.

Join us tonight at 7 PM!

Navigating Social Security benefits can feel overwhelming, especially when it comes to Continuing Disability Reviews (CDRs) and the risk of unexpected overpayments. In this informative webinar, disability expert Jeff Rabin will break down how CDRs work, why overpayments happen, and the clear, practical steps you can take to avoid them. Whether you’re managing your own benefits or supporting a loved one, you’ll leave with a clearer understanding and greater peace of mind.

We’ll also take a moment to reflect on our year together with a brief NAMI CCNS Year-End Review, celebrating community impact, program highlights, and a look at what’s ahead in the coming year.
