We will be closed on May 1 in solidarity with the National Strike opposing war, deportations, and policies that prioritize billionaire interests over our collective future.

National strikes remind those in power that they rely on our labor and consumption, and remind us that we are not powerless.

Our government is serving the interests of billionaires many of whom profit from war, surveillance, detention centers, prisons, and policing. By joining the national strike, we add our voice to the demand, asserted by Indivisible co-founder Leah Greenberg, for "a government that invests in our communities, not one that enriches billionaires, fuels endless war, or deploys masked agents to intimidate our neighbors."

📣CALL TO ACTION📣

The 5-Needle Ear Acupuncture Protocol is a tool that was created through the efforts of Dr. Mutulu Shakur, the Black Panthers and the Young Lords to help community members take care of neighbors struggling with trauma, PTSD and substance misuse. We need your support to put this powerful tool back into the hands of the people!

📣 The bill needs to be called for a hearing—and your witness slip can help make that happen.

👉 Please take a moment to submit a witness slip in support of HB 2715 - see ILAcu4All.com for instructions and share with your networks.

We take care of each other!👂♥️

—————————————————————————
Background: HB 2715 would allow trained specialists-including addiction and harm‑reduction counselors, social workers, nurses, first responders, and other community members-to be certified to provide the 5‑Needle Protocol (5NP), a safe, low‑cost, drug‑free tool used for decades to support people experiencing trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and substance misuse.
Right now, access is severely limited. Illinois has only about 800 acupuncturists for 12.7 million people, and many immigrant, low‑income, Black, Brown, Indigenous, rural, and street‑based communities have no access to tool at all. HB 2715 would help close these gaps by allowing trusted community members to be trained and certified to provide 5NP safely and within a clearly defined scope.

As fear, grief, and trauma intensify in groups being targeted by this administration, expanding access to culturally grounded, community‑led support is more urgent than ever.

Together, we can move Illinois toward real health equity and ensure communities have the tools they need to care for one another.
