This is a photo of a bird descending. I think it is a sea gull, but reminds me of a white dove that is used in the New Testament of The Holy Bible as representing the Holy Spirit.

I found a great website yesterday at http://blueletterbible.org. They have full texts of the bible in may versions, devotionals, commentaries, and plans for reading through the Bible in one or two years. I especially liked that they have morning and evening devotionals as well as good prices on books.

I would encourage us to build new friends and strengthen our family and friendships this year as we take stock of losses of loved ones this past year. It really makes me aware of how important loved ones are. I thank God for the gift of loved ones and for His incredible power in getting through loss. It really helps to get back to our lives, but also to reexamine how we connect with others.

I just happened to think that I have not said what types of clients we see at Aslan Center. I work with children primarily and their families. The types of children I work with are children of divorce, children whose parents used drugs or alcohol prenatally, autistic children, children who are victims of abuse, and children (and adults) with learning problems. We also have two substance abuse professionals also.

It was a quiet day at Aslan Center. Only a couple clients, and I was able to get some paper work done. I would ask your prayers for a girl whose case goes to court Tuesday. She was taken from her home by CPS a few weeks ago because mother's boyfriend is a registered s*x offender who hadn't registered and was living with them. I would like prayer that the court would make the best decision for this little girl.

It is Friday night. Only one more day of seeing clients this week. We spent part of this evening working on our substance program. For those clients wondering if their alcohol use is a problem, assessments are being offered by Jesse Parker and Kirby Embrey, Substance Abuse Professionals with Aslan Center.

I am just opening my Aslan Center page. Aslan Center is a Christian counseling center operated by Bonita Neville Ekhardt, with two other therapists working as independent therapists in the area of substance abuse. I look forward to interfacing with our fans.
