While Covid-19 cases are on the decline and many of us are getting vaccinated, testing for Covid-19 and antibodies continue to be a part of our life. We are now offering a new and extremely convenient way to get tested - in home visits. We come to your home, perform the test and have the results available the same day for antigen and antibodies and next day for PCR testing.
The test is safe and quick. Please call us on 847-410-8416 to learn more or go to www.chicagocovidlab.com to preregister.

I have very exciting news to share with you about testing for Covid-19 at Elterman center. We now use PCR for exact determination whether someone has or does not have a virus. We use antigen testing for immediate results and we use antibody testing for testing for immunity. With three types of testing available one may ask - what is the best test for me? The answer to this question depends on the circumstances. Let's run from several scenarios
Scenario number 1: you have symptoms. The symptoms of coronavirus infection include runny nose, headache, new loss of sensation of smell or taste, headache, fevers, abdominal pain, diarrhea. If you have these symptoms, the best testing to get is rapid antigen testing - it will give you results immediately and you will be able to self-isolate, to inform your contacts and inform your primary care physician so you get treated.
Let’s talk about another scenario: you’d like to visit your elderly relative or friend and you don’t want them to get infected. The best test to identify even minute amounts of virus would be PCR testing. The caveat there is that it does take a couple of days to get the answer.
You have to be prepared to wait. Third scenario: you were sick a couple of months ago and you don’t know whether that was Covid-19 or a simple cold virus or a flu and you want to know if you are immune to Covid-19. In this case the best testing to get is the antibody testing. This is the test for immunity, it’s done with a simple finger stick - just one drop of blood will determine if you have immunity to Covid-19. For all of your Covid-19 testing needs please call our office at 847-410-8416 or go to our website www.chicagocovidlab.com. Our testing facility is open Monday through Friday 8 am to 6 pm and Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Stay safe and healthy!
