🎃HALLOWEEN SAFETY TIPS🎃

For most people, Halloween can be a pleasant holiday, but it can also be a highly stressful time for some seniors, especially those with mental or physical health issues.

As visitors to their homes can cause panic, some elderly people may worry about their safety at this time.

By taking a few safeguards, you can keep your love one secure and content on Halloween, nevertheless.

For some seniors, Halloween raises fundamental safety concerns. Here are some things that add to their worries:
🎃Costumes and decorations
🎃Slick pavements
🎃Falling leaves
🎃Fewer daylight hours
🎃Unpredictable weather conditions

Consider the following tips to help ease the minds of our seniors.
1. Remove the outdoor pumpkins and decorations if they do not want to distribute candy.
2. Close the drapes and turn off all outdoor lighting as well.
3. Additionally, you may hang a sign that reads, "No More Candy!
" or a similar statement to deter trick-or-treaters.
4. Keep them away from pathways and assist them if he/she decides to hand out candy while wearing decorations.
5. You may hang a sign that reads, "No More Candy!
" or a similar statement to deter trick-or-treaters. After they have finished handing out candies, turn on nightlights in the rooms and passageways.
6. Do not place window decorations that block the light or views of main entrances, such as the front door.
7. If carving pumpkins with them, use safe carving tools and light them with fake candles.
8. If you do not want to use pumpkin carving tools, try painting them instead.
In addition, keep pumpkins outside to keep the decaying and consequent bugs outside.
9. Try spending the evening with them, especially if they have mental and/or physical complications. They will greatly appreciate your presence to keep them safe and comfortable.
10. Keep in mind that Halloween can be stressful due to the scary costumes and added stimulation from doorbells and outside noises. Be conscious of your love one or client’s wishes and tolerances and keep them safe and comfortable.

Hey everyone! What are your favorite activities to do with your love ones during this Fall Season?

Below are some of what our clients love to do with our caregivers:

🍁Schedule a walk through the forest. Get outside and take a stroll in the woods on a lovely fall morning.
🍁Rake leaves! Sitting or standing! who says you cannot rake leaves sitting ? as long as you’re safe with someone.. you can get an excellent workout in! (Check with your medical prof for tips); And whether you rake or watch them rake leaves, it will be well worth it!

🍁Bake an apple or pumpkin pie to surely bring spice and warm up your kitchen.

🍁Take some amazing photos that say, “fall is here” to you. Picture the fall foliage, and use them to liven your home. There are numerous opportunities to photograph the changing of seasons, regardless of whether you live in a region with golden aspen trees or on hillsides covered in multicolored foliage.

🍁Make a thankfulness list. Thanksgiving is just around the corner, so take the time to make a list of all the things you are grateful for, like family, love, and life!

October 13 is recognized nationally in the U.S. as Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day.
The aim of Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day is to spread knowledge about what patients are going through and how society can help.
Breast cancer metastasizes (spreads to other parts of the body away from the breast) in about 30% of early-stage cases, and this day raises awareness of the need for more research on metastatic disease.
A metastatic case of breast cancer means that it has spread to other organs (lungs, bones, etc.) outside the breast, and is now considered a stage four case.
When faced with metastatic breast cancer, it is pertinent to manage physical and emotional aspects of the disease's symptoms, which may include anxiety. A patient may undergo surgeries and chemotherapy, as well as clinical trials of new drugs, which, along with other palliative care, may help improve quality of life and lengthen life expectancy.
As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day provides an opportunity for us to raise awareness and visibility for those championing scientific advances.
Here at Trinity Home Care Solutions, we help
“Spread the LOVE”
Reach out to someone you know who is battling breast cancer. Tell them you care and want to understand what they're going through. Show your love and support.

Beating the Flu with Healthy Habits

As the saying goes, health is wealth. We must maintain a healthy lifestyle if we want to avoid the flu, or any other sickness for that matter. We should be consistent about it to strengthen our immune system.

The best flu prevention method is easy: eat well, exercise frequently, get adequate sleep, wash your hands frequently, and stay away from sick people.

But in reality, avoiding germ contact is difficult. Generally, keeping healthy is the best defense against the flu.
Let's Make It Work Every Day
Love your greens, yellows, and oranges. Eat fruits and vegetables that are dark green, crimson, or yellow. They include lots of antioxidants, as well as vitamins A, C, and E and beta-carotene.

An immune system that is well-nourished is more effective at warding off diseases, so fuel your body with organic vitamins and antioxidants.

Regular exercise is essential. Every time you run or walk, you boost your immunity, your body's natural defense against viruses. Health benefits are greater when you do more.

Get lots of sleep. Most adults need 7 to 8 hours of sleep a day. Teens require more sleep, roughly 9 hours per day. Growing children require between 10 and 12 hours of sleep.

Reduce stress. A little stress can be good for mental endurance. But knowing when to relax is important. The immune system is weakened by excessive stress.

There are no promises made. Even if you have a very healthy lifestyle and do all these things, you could still get sick. However, if you're in good condition and your immune system is functioning, you may be able to prevent contracting the flu. You will get sick less frequently.

As always, ALWAYS ask your Doctor for more information on how to get ready for flu!!

March Is a National Nutrition Month! What’s your #1 tip in picking healthy food? 🍲 🍎✅

March Is a National Nutrition Month! What’s your #1 tip in picking healthy food? 🍲 🍎✅

Tips for Picking Healthy Food:

The healthiest foods are whole foods. These are often found on the perimeter of the grocery store in the produce, meat, and dairy sections. When you do eat packaged foods, be a smart shopper! Read the labels to find items that are lower in fat, added sugars, and sodium.
Make sure you eat a variety of foods to get all the nutrients you need. Your plate should look like a rainbow—bright, colored foods are always the best choice! A healthy meal should include:

-Lean protein (lean meats, seafood, eggs, beans)
-Fruits and vegetables (think orange, red, green, and purple)
-Whole grains (brown rice, whole wheat pasta)
-Low-fat dairy (milk and its alternatives)
