This Tuesday, April 28, is National Superhero Day, and we'd love to see the office filled with little heroes! If you're coming in Tuesday, wear your favorite superhero costume, T-shirt, PJs, hat, sneakers, pin - whatever you've got. This holiday is also for celebrating everyday heroes, so if your kid is more of a firefighter or trash collector or astronaut - or doctor! - it's all great! Show us how they're saving the world!

With all the rain lately, it's a perfect time to pull on some galoshes and get everyone's hands dirty! Or if you're not a fan of mud or don't have an outdoor space, planting some seeds in cups indoors and watching them sprout can also be a lot of fun, and help kids learn to care for other living things. There are so many ways to bring gardening and nature-related activities to your family during the spring and summer. Give a few of these a try, or come up with your own and share them!

Happy National Pet Day! Meet the fur babies of KHP:

Dr. Kasbekar’s Daisy: She’s only ten pounds but has a huge personality. She can play fetch for hours, loves barking for no reason, and thinks everyone she meets is her best friend!

Jeny’s howling hounds Max and Remy, and cat sibling Milo.

Tara’s Zoey (11 year old Shih Tzu mix. A big fan of humans, squeaky toys, and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Not big on car rides, fart noises, or mail carriers) and Leia (9 year old Australian Shepherd/Lab mix. Big fan of butt scratches, anything edible, and sunbathing. Not so big on rabbits, late dinner, or nail trims.)

Genevieve’s timid void Toothless (best at hide-and-seek) and bold tabby floof M’Chonne (shows both her annoyance and her love with teeth).

Happy Spring Equinox! Over here we are celebrating (hopefully) the ending of a rough cold and flu season, and we hope you're all starting to feel refreshed and rejuvenated.

If your child needs a physical this summer - especially if they're entering kindergarten, middle school, high school, or college in the fall, or planning to play sports - this is your reminder to call and schedule that appointment before the summer fills up! Our calendar is open through the end of August.

This is your irregularly scheduled reminder that, although our office is open on Saturday mornings, we do NOT accept walk-ins on Saturdays. We do have same-day sick appointments throughout the morning, so if you want to bring your child in on a Saturday, call our office early and we will be happy to give you an appointment!
