Several weeks ago when Cedar Ridge participated in the Skowhegan Whoo-ville Parade, we wanted to include the community in spreading cheer to our residents. We had the idea of a community coloring contest and handed out 500 Grinch coloring pages to the kids- 500 wasn't enough, next year we will need more! We gave kids a little over a week to return them in a Whoo-ville mailbox in the front of the Center, and they posted them for our residents to see, sorted into 4 age groups.

Yesterday our residents voted on their favorites by age group, and these are the winners! Congratulations to Madelyn (5 and under), Liam (6-9 years old), Sayre (10-13 years old), and Mya (14-18 years old). We look forward to seeing the kids come in to get their prizes.
Friday staff and residents received some gifts and treats. Day 5 of spirit week ending it with dress as your favorite character.Staff showed up all decked out.

Day 4 of Spirit Week was Candy Cane Day! 🎉 Staff and residents were encouraged to wear red, and https://ow.ly/h77v50XLIOJ was our last visit from the CRCS learners. They've been visiting for the last six weeks, and they brought some thank you cards for our residents! We also had an amazing Christmas Chaos party with live music by Lisa & Rob!

Monday started spirit week here at Cedar Ridge with ugly sweater day. We also had an event called Dessert Delights. Members of the management team were asked to make some yummy treats for the residents. Three of our residents were delighted to judge. First place went to Lisa Woods for her brownies. Second place went to Robert Fenning for his croquembouche, and third place went to James Montague for his cinnamon rolls. Congratulations! The dietary staff also supplied cake and cookies that were delicious! A huge thank you to all the staff that dressed in their ugly sweaters and to the management team for making some special treats for the residents!

Friday night Cedar Ridge participated in the Skowhegan Whoville parade. Our administrator Robert Fenning had a blast portraying the Grinch! Staff members walked alongside the float passing out coloring pages for our Grinch coloring contest. We had a wonderful time participating in this community event, and look forward to doing it again in 2026!

The Maine militia unit was in service from June 4, 1861, to June 28, 1864.
Raul Pinto, from Company A, 3rd Maine Regiment Volunteer Infantry, stopped by on Wednesday, to provide our residents with a history lesson on Maine's role in the Civil War. Raul was very entertaining and informative.
