Another midwife secret? I LOVE labor more than birth.

I love your labor because there is a transformation in the work. A journey that must be made to get to the triumphant celebratory end. No part of the journey is easy; it’s full of choices, expansion beyond limits, and deepest knowing that bubbles up hidden truths from dark corners. But, it is in that journey that you find the strength to be the mother this baby needs. And every baby needs something different so no birth will be the same.

I love being like a Sherpa on this journey, then sitting back while you exuberantly claim yourself and your babe, watching you become her.

Devotion Midwifery is now serving more families than ever accross greater New Orleans, Northshore, and Baton Rouge Louisiana. And yes, that includes first time moms!

Introducing Camilo Andres Santana.

We welcomed baby number four last month right at home. I appreciate all the patience and love as I'm at home recovering and bonding with this sweet baby boy. I do plan to start taking patients again in September, but for now I'll be basking in this birth high & baby bliss🫶🏽
