We get this question a lot: "Is DPC Plus just concierge medicine?"

Not even close. Here's the actual difference. ⬇️

Concierge medicine started in the 90s as a way for doctors to offer more personalized care. Great idea, but here's the catch: most of them still billed insurance on top of the membership fee. So patients were paying for the relationship AND paying for every visit.

Direct Primary Care came from a different question entirely: What if we just removed insurance from the equation for primary care altogether?

So here's our breakdown
➡️ Direct Primary Care: flat monthly fee, no insurance billing, built for affordability
➡️ Concierge Medicine: membership fee + still bills insurance, premium pricing, limited access

Both have a provider who actually knows your name. But only *one* was built to be accessible.

Janette, Chad, and Lariat from our DPC Plus team flew to Nashville to experience the HINT Summit 2026, a conference designed for Direct Primary Care employers, clinicians, and industry partners who want to learn, connect, and drive change in the healthcare landscape.

For two days, they attended thought-provoking sessions, met with industry leaders, and gained insight on how to boost this healthcare movement to new heights.

Direct primary care is not a temporary ideal. It's pivoting how we offer healthcare on a national scale. Thank you to Hint Health for coordinating a fantastic conference and inspiring us to continue restoring our healthcare system!
