Come out and support our local First Responders!

Twenty-four years ago, one morning changed our nation forever. Nearly 3,000 lives were lost in a day of unimaginable violence. Families were left with empty chairs at their tables, and first responders gave everything they had to save others.

Firefighters, police officers, EMTs, and paramedics ran into danger without hesitation. Many never came home, but their courage and sacrifice left a legacy that continues to live on.

Today we pause to remember them all: the lives taken, the heroes who served, and the families who still carry the weight of that day.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame Wide Receiver Danny Abramowicz and his son, Daniel Abramowicz, a member of The Blood Center's , highlight the critical need for blood donations. Paralleling the physical challenges Danny faced playing football in the NFL and the life-saving impact of blood donations for children in hospitals, Abramowicz emphasizes the daily work of The Blood Center's staff and the reliance on donated blood at Manning Family Children's and other facilities for the treatment of patients fighting to heal and live.
Become a blood donor, a single donation can save up to three lives, and eligibility begins at age 17 (or 16 with a guardian's consent). Donate blood regularly and become repeat donors.

Thank you WLOX-TV & Singing River Health System for helping us raise awareness about the constant need for blood.
It's because of our donors (and the organizations who host blood drives) that patients like Kevin, whose wife works with , have the blood and blood components needed to fight. When you give with your local blood collector, you're helping your friends, neighbors, and those in your community.

Singing River Health System is slated to host four blood drives across the Coast.

Big thanks to Moms that Dance for hosting us today and supporting our local community blood supply.

We’re always looking for groups who can encourage 20 or more donors to roll up their sleeve and help the patients in our area. All we need is a good space and we’ll bring out the beds, juice and cookies (but let’s be real; having bring out the dance Krewes, a DJ, Mrs. Louisiana, and some amazing door prizes never hurts 😉 make for a FUN event!)
