STARC of Louisiana teamed up once again with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff Randy Smith for our 6th annual Sheriff for a Day experience!

This year’s honorary sheriff, Matthew Luke, spent the day making unforgettable memories and we captured it all. 💙

Today is your chance to turn generosity into real opportunity for the individuals we serve at STARC of Louisiana. 💛

Mardi Gras may be over, but the impact continues. Every year, thousands of beads are donated to us by the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office. Our clients sort, clean, and repackage them—creating meaningful jobs, building independence, and taking pride in their work.

Right now, though, we’re facing a challenge…

❗ We’ve run out of storage space.
Without a solution, we may have to turn away bead donations—and the jobs that come with them.

🚨 We need 8 extra-large rolling bins ASAP.
These bins will help us keep everything moving—literally and figuratively—so our clients can continue working and thriving.

Tomorrow is Give NOLA Day — and we need your help TODAY to make a big impact.

At STARC of Louisiana, Mardi Gras doesn’t end when the parades are over… it transforms into opportunity.

Thanks to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, thousands of beads are collected each year and donated to us. From there, our incredible team of individuals with disabilities sorts, cleans, and repackages them—creating meaningful work, steady paychecks, and a powerful sense of pride.

But right now, we’ve hit a serious roadblock…

❗ We are OUT of storage space.
Beads are piling up, and without a solution, we may have to turn away donations—and the opportunities they bring.

We had an amazing time celebrating our staff at STARC of Louisiana during our In-Service Day at Cajun Encounters Tour Company !
From a relaxing swamp tour to enjoying some delicious boiled crawfish, it was a day full of fun, appreciation, and connection.

A special thank you to our guest speaker, David Jones with David Jones Leadership Consulting, for sharing such an inspiring message with our team.

We are so grateful for our dedicated staff and everything they do to support the individuals and families we serve each day!
