✨ Today filled my midwife heart with so much joy! ✨
Our Mom Meet-Up was everything I hoped for good food, meaningful conversations, and beautiful connections between like-minded mamas.

Watching everyone share, laugh, and lift each other up reminds me why community matters so much on this journey of motherhood. 💕

Can’t wait to make this a seasonal tradition see you next time, mamas! 🌸

Your baby’s favorite place in the world? Right on your chest. 💕

Skin-to-skin isn’t just sweet snuggles it actually:
🌸 Regulates baby’s breathing & heart rate
🌸 Helps with bonding & breastfeeding
🌸 Lowers stress for both mom and baby

It’s nature’s way of saying: you belong together.

👉 Did you do skin-to-skin after birth? What was that moment like for you?

Recently, a group of us midwives gathered—not to be heroes, but to love, support, and collaborate on shaping the future of midwifery in our communities. Some drove hours just to be together, sharing wisdom, understanding, and strength that only comes from genuine connection. These are my midwife sisters, and I deeply value the humble, passionate work they do every day.

Midwifery is a long-term commitment—a game of patience, dedication, and heart. I am so grateful to be surrounded by these powerful women who show up, day after day. I see you. I see the blood, sweat, and tears you pour into this work.

My eyes are open to the challenges we face, and I have found my voice.

Being a midwife is my calling—always has been, always will be. But birth advocacy is my journey. I strive to be boots on the ground, meeting the needs of our communities and amplifying the voices that often go unheard.

Together, we’re not just changing births—we’re changing generations. 💜

Let’s talk more about female pelvic health!

Let’s talk more about female pelvic health!

Did you know that it is normal for the vulvar tissues to be a bit swollen following a vaginal delivery? This can be true even if you do not experience vulvar or perineal tearing. This swelling can lead to discomfort and sensations of heaviness.

But don't worry! There are things you can do to help reduce the swelling. One of those things is called pelvic unweighting. This can be done several times throughout the day, for a few minutes at a time to help reduce vulvar and perineal swelling. You can also do some gentle kegels while in this position, and this will also help reduce swelling. This is also an easy position for those pelvic floor muscles to start working again. So it's a win-win all around.

Whether you need postpartum care, or you're preparing for delivery, we'd love to be part of your journey! We offer Childbirth prep packages, and online courses to help you feel empowered for delivery and beyond!

If this is YOU, come see us at any of our THREE locations (Metairie, Mandeville, or Ponchatoula)! Link to schedule is in our bio!

Here are 10 tips from a midwife for staying healthy during pregnancy:

# Nutrition and Lifestyle
1. *Eat a balanced diet*: Focus on whole foods, fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. Approximately 80 grams of protein a day is what’s best for a pregnant mama.
2. *Stay hydrated*: Drink plenty of water (at least 8-10 glasses a day or 80oz) to help prevent constipation and reduce risk of preterm labor.
3. *Exercise regularly*: Aim for moderate exercise, like walking, swimming, or prenatal yoga, to promote physical and mental well-being.

# Health and Wellness
4. *Get enough sleep*: Aim for 7-9 hours of sleep per night to help your body and baby grow.
5. *Manage stress*: Engage in stress-reducing activities, like meditation, deep breathing, or prenatal massage.
6. *Stay up-to-date on prenatal care*: Regular check-ups with your healthcare provider can help identify any potential issues early on.

# Pregnancy-Specific Tips
7. *Take your prenatal vitamins*: These supplements provide essential nutrients, like folic acid and iron, for fetal development.
8. *Practice good posture*: Maintain good posture to reduce back pain and promote optimal fetal positioning.
9. *Avoid harmful substances*: Refrain from smoking, drinking alcohol, and using recreational drugs, which can harm your baby’s development.
10. *Stay connected with your body*: Listen to your body and report any concerns or changes to your healthcare provider.

Remember, every pregnancy is unique, and it’s essential to consult with your healthcare provider for personalized advice and care.
