We have had a busy week engaging in bingo activities, participating in Thanksgiving crafts with Lori, and participating in Bible study. Of course, our exercise regimen was also maintained. Today, the VFW ladies graciously hosted bingo for our residents, and Cathi prepared a delicious butternut squash cake. We always appreciate the contributions of our volunteers. Tomorrow, we will be hosting coffee and long johns, and we look forward to seeing you all.

What a truly uplifting, fun Monday we have had! We began our day with a heartwarming visit from the FFA crew and four adorable little corgi puppies. The residents were absolutely beaming with joy! Thank you to Monica and the FFA crew for sharing those precious puppies with our residents and staff. Before lunch, we fit in some invigorating exercises and stretches, which is always a great way to boost our energy! During lunch, we also celebrated Nolin's 100th birthday in style; we are grateful to his incredible family for all the delightful birthday treats they brought in for all the residents and staff - such kindness is truly inspiring. After lunch, we gathered together for some thrilling bingo, always a highlight. We hope your day was as amazing as ours, but it may be hard to top!

Congratulations to these ladies but especially to Lori, one of our own! Good luck with your CMA class ladies. ❤️

We would like help from everyone wishing this young man a very, very happy 100th birthday! Puppy snuggles and cake; no better way to spend a birthday. Nolan is still very independent and does most things on his own, and we are lucky to be a part of his life. 🎂🥳

We hope you are all out enjoying this gorgeous weather. Yesterday morning, we hosted coffee and muffins, and they were a hit. We offered a variety of flavors and everyone enjoyed them. It's definitely one of our highlights each week. We give family and friends the opportunity to come and relax with the residents, enjoy refreshments, and food. We also got in some kitty snuggles, courtesy of one of our CNAs. Before lunch, we challenged ourselves with a good word game to see how many words we could come up with under certain categories. After lunch, they took a break and did some self-directed activities. We hope you enjoy your weekend.

Happy Thursday everyone. This morning we worked our brains with some trivia. We definitely learned some interesting facts today. Always enjoy learning new things. Before lunch we did some exercises and stretches. This afternoon we had a large crowd for bingo and special guests Sheryl and Darcy joined us and helped some of the residents who needed a little extra assistance. We enjoyed their visit and help and appreciate them so much. Can’t wait to see everyone in the morning at 10am for coffee and muffins. ❤️

Yesterday, we observed Veterans Day by presenting our veterans with cupcakes and certificates as a token of our gratitude for their sacrifices. The morning commenced with a Veterans Day painting activity, followed by a Bible study session led by Smith Center United Methodist Church. We extend our appreciation to Jim for providing the services. In the afternoon, Darcy assisted with bingo, and we are grateful for her time. The event was thoroughly enjoyable. This morning, Lori visited and helped facilitate morning activities. We consistently appreciate her time and assistance. We prepared caramel apples with various toppings, which proved to be a popular activity. Prior to lunch, we engaged in exercise routines. It was a special day, featuring fried chicken, and Ken's harmonica and guitar performances, accompanied by singing. The atmosphere was lively and entertaining. Following lunch, we took a brief nap and then assembled to watch our first Christmas movie of the season, accompanied by popcorn. 🍿

On Friday, we had coffee and glazed donuts with friends and family. ❤️ Lori always comes in on Fridays and volunteers her time to help us, and we appreciate her so much. We thank everyone who continues to come in; the residents love seeing you and visiting with you. We had exercises before lunch and stretches. Stan came and played the piano and sang songs after lunch, which we greatly appreciated. I did not get pictures of that, sorry. This morning, we started our morning with some nail care and hand massages. Before lunch, we got together for exercises and stretches. Everyone needs a good workout. 🏋️ This afternoon, we played bingo and received cat snuggles. After bingo, we hit the bingo shop and did some shopping since we missed it last Friday. I completely spaced getting pictures of residents with the things they bought in the shop. They love the little shop, and I’ll be adding new things this week.

Busy last few days we have had. On Tuesday, we finally finished Stan’s book, and what a joy it was to read. Afterwards, Les joined us for Bible study and songs. After lunch, Darcy came in, and we played bingo and had tons of fun. Thank you, Darcy, for your help; I appreciate it, and I know the residents love seeing you. Yesterday morning, Lori came in, and we put together our November border for our board. Thank you, Lori, for coming in and doing a craft with the residents; it’s always a good time. Yesterday afternoon, we got in a small group to see how high we could stack the cups, which brought lots of laughter and good conversations. This morning, we did a Thanksgiving craft and got those hung up for everyone to see. Before lunch, we got our exercises and stretches in. This afternoon, our VFW ladies came in for bingo and treats. Cathi made yummy, gooey oatmeal raisin cookies, and they were amazing. Thank you, ladies, for coming in for bingo; it’s definitely a favorite around here.

What a busy, fun Monday we had. This morning we started our day with room visits. The residents do enjoy the individualized interaction and conversations one-on-one. Before lunch, we got our exercises and stretches in. This afternoon, Darcy came and painted the ladies' nails; they absolutely love nail day. Thank you, Darcy, for coming in and pampering the residents. Tonight, after supper, we got together for some more fun and sipped, painted, and planted succulents! We also enjoyed some cranberry mocktails. What a fun time! Thank you to everyone who came in for the event and to our staff for working around our event. We look forward to hosting another one in the future.
