This week is Aortic Dissection Awareness week! Grayson was born with an enlarged ascending aorta. This means he is at risk of having an aortic dissection. He is being closely followed by a cardiologist and has routine echocardiograms to monitor the size of the enlarged area and monitor the walls of the aorta to make sure they aren’t getting too thin. As Grayson is growing, so is his enlarged area of the aorta which means he may need surgery in the future to fix it, hopefully before an aortic dissection ever happens ❤️🙏🏻

Day 23- first family photo. The first photo is the first family photo we have together (September 4, 2021). The second photo is the next family photo we have together (October 17, 2021) and it’s a better photo than the first. One thing I regret about Grayson’s birth and time in the NICU is that Matt and I didn’t take any photos together with Grayson, but I cherish the time we were able to spend together at his bedside 🥰
