STORM SAFETY❄

This storm was a big one, and the snow isn't done yet. We want to remind you of important life saving fire/CO safety tips during snowfalls like this.

- shovel exhaust vents (furnace exhaust, boiler vents etc) so gases are not backed up into the house causing CO buildup
- shovel outside dryer vents to avoid moisture/lint buildup that could lead to fire
- shovel basement windows / egress windows for emergency escape and to avoid water intrusion when snow melts
- shovel gas and electric meters to prevent pressure issues and allow access in an emergency
- open the garage door when warming up your car and clear snow behind tailpipes

Fire Safety Friday!!🔥

'Tis the season for space heaters- and we're here to remind you how to stay safe around them!

It's common for space heaters to cause fires when they're not used with proper care. Remember to:

🧯Keep heaters at least 3 feet away from anything that can burn
🧯Never plug them into extension cords or power strips
🧯Turn them off when you leave the room or go to sleep

A little extra caution goes a long way in keeping your home warm and safe this winter ❄️🏡
