On World Hearing Day, Dr. Yoder visited local elementary students to talk about hearing health and protecting their ears! Having grown up right here in our community, she is passionate about serving the place she calls home. We’re proud to have her on our team and love seeing her inspire the next generation. Your hearing does more than help you listen — it keeps you connected to conversations, relationships, safety, and everyday moments that matter.

According to the World Health Organization, more than 1.5 billion people worldwide live with some degree of hearing loss, and nearly 430 million people need hearing rehabilitation services. That’s why early awareness, prevention, and regular hearing checks are so important.

This , do one of the following to take one simple step for your hearing health:
🔹 turn down the volume
🔹 wear hearing protection in loud environments
🔹 schedule a hearing check if you’ve noticed changes or to get a baseline evaluation

Do you know the decibel levels of these everyday sounds? 🔉

Hair dryers, traffic, lawn mowers, and even workout classes can have varying levels of noise that can surpass the “safe” listening level (generally below 70 decibels)!

Yes, just like you can rehab a muscle, you can rehab your hearing! 🙌

It’s not exactly the same, but if you experience hearing loss, aural rehabilitation can be a great technique to help improve your communication!

Noisy restaurant? Loud gym atmosphere?

Even people with normal hearing can sometimes have trouble distinguishing sounds when there is a lot of background noise. 😅

However, people with hearing impairment hear differently than those with normal hearing, and the background noise can amplify those differences.
