Results are in from HOSA ILC 2025!

Our scrapbook took top three in the HOSA Happenings category for the national competition and Jensen Peters made it to round two in the Patient Care Tech category.

We are so proud of everyone for their hard work and can’t wait to see how much our HOSA chapter grows for school year 25-26! 🫶🏻🩸🩹💊🩺

HOSA ILC 2025 in Nashville TN was great! Jensen made it to the second round in the Patient Care Tech category. We find out tonight if she placed in the Top 10! 🩹🩸💊

While there we were able to see a show at the Grand Ole Opry and tour the Ryman Auditorium. 🎙️ We bought boots and ate lots of yummy food. 👢🍔🍱🍪🍦

The 6-pack is at it again! They have earned ANOTHER certification. They are now Certified Phlebotomy Techs.

Proud Mama🥰 Ms. Judy Carter and I proud of all of you!

We had 6 young ladies receive job offers!! 4 from Riverside Health Systems and 2 Helping Hands Home Health. The ladies earned their CNA and will now enter the workforce to start their healthcare journey!🏥🩺🩹💞

Celebrating Senior Night at WHS and SHS was so fun. We have 13 CNAs, 6 PCTs, 6 EKG techs, and soon 6 Phlebotomy techs. These are just the SENIORS!! 🤩

Lilah Foster has received offers from Riverside Regional Medical Center on CVT as a CNA, CHKD, and Helping Hands Home Health.

Angie Alcanices will be working as a CNA with Helping Hands Home Health.

Lexi Wiggins has been working as a CNA since January at Riverside Lifelong Health & Rehab- Smithfield.

Holly Williams will be working as a CNA at Riverside Lifelong Health & Rehab- Smithfield.

Bri Lynn will be working at Riverside Regional Medical Center on the OrthoTrauma unit as a CNA.

Molly Myers will be working at Riverside Lifelong Health & Rehab Smithfield as a CNA.

Today our health science students were able to tour the construction of the new hospital, Riverside Smithfield Hospital. This hospital will open in January 2026 and will be considered a critical care access hospital. We are so excited that we have the opportunity that our students will be able to shadow, do clinicals, and have the opportunity to work for such a great organization 🏥🩺

Our first inaugural class! All six students have earned their OSHA Healthcare Certification, BLS-CPR certification, CNA certification, and Patient Care Tech certification. AND they still have to test on 2 more certifications, Phlebotomy Tech and EKG Tech, prior to their graduation from high school on June 13. We are sooooo proud of each of you!!

✨ We Need Your Help! ✨

Our Patient Care Tech program is designed to equip students with essential healthcare skills, including:

Phlebotomy (blood draws- fingerstick and venipuncture)

EKG Placement (heart monitoring)

To enhance their learning experience, our CERTIFIED PCT students must practice these skills in a supervised environment numerous times. We kindly invite you to volunteer as a participant, allowing students to perform phlebotomy and EKG placement procedures under the close guidance of qualified instructors, Nurse Judy Carter and Nurse Jessica Futrell.

Your participation will:

Support hands-on healthcare education

Help students build confidence and competence

Prepare future healthcare professionals for success
*Each student must complete 10 EKGs, 10 Fingersticks, and 30 Venipunctures, prior to taking their certification exam. Please help our students!!

Volunteers must be 18 y/o and will sign a waiver.
