Summit Creek Speech & Language is a small business in Cache Valley, Utah that offers private speech and language services (including assessment and intervention) for children and parents of children ages birth through elementary ages. Our priority at is that children and families receive the best possible communicative intervention. As parents are the ones who spend the most time with their children and know them best, we have a strong emphasis in empowering parents with information and skills to provide and carryover the speech and language input necessary to maximize our therapy time. Additionally, we believe that we cannot wait for our children to become "delayed" or "disordered" before providing services. If parents are having a concern regarding their child's communication, usually those concerns are justified and interventions can be put in place to prevent the delay or disorder.

If you have concerns about your child don’t hesitate to contact us!

Children develop at their own rate. Your child might not have all skills until the end of the age range.

Have you ever heard of the “Mathew Effect”? Here’s a graph to show the concept, but this concept is at work with children who are behind in communication and have difficulty producing speech sounds. Children who have difficulty learning speech sounds are at risk of it negatively impacting their literacy. Then, once they are behind, even if they start learning at the same rate as their peers, could be behind throughout the school years. Early intervention for children’s communication, and even speech sounds, is essential!!!
