Gail Driver Jenkins age 51 passed away at her residence in Smithville, Friday April 10, 2026. She was born January 16, 1975, to her parents Shirley Driver and the late David Driver. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ophie Hayes. Gail was of the Baptist Faith and a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, Joe Jenkins of Smithville; two children, Jerricha Wilkins and (Charles Drake,) Hunter Wilkens and (Coty Giddens); mother, Shirley Driver; sister, Jennie Driver and (Darrel Adkins); brother, Eugene Driver; grandkids, Lakiah Drake, Zariyah Drake, Calla Vickers, Ty Vickers, Stetson Wilkins; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Becky Knowles. Graveside services and interment will be 3 PM Monday April 13, 2026, at DeKalb Cemetery with Bro. Bernard Houk officiating. There will not be any visitation or services at the funeral home, family and friends will meet at the cemetery at 3 PM for the service. Janice Judkins age 73 of the Jefferson Community of DeKalb County, was born July 28, 1952 and went home to be with the Lord on Friday morning, April, 10, 2026 at Select Specialty Hospital at St. Thomas West. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Wesley and Mary Jean Poorman Cleland; husband, David Judkins; brother, Harold Glen Cleland. Janice was a member of Allen's Chapel Church. She worked alongside her late husband, David in the nursery and was a homemaker. Janice always had such a smile and sweet spirit. She leaves to cherish a world of memories, two children, Bryan (Georgette) Judkins of Smithville; Mary (Brian) Young of Sparta; grandchildren, Kayla (Daniel) Kincer, Brad Emberton, Hannah Judkins, Zack (Mallory) Young, Daniel (Crystal) Young; great-grandchildren, Cash, Kaden, Kasen, Kolten, Kinsley Drew, Jordan, Declan, Charlee, Marshall, Ezra, Noah and Eliza. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held Monday morning, April 13, 2026 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jerry Pullum officiating and burial will follow in DeKalb Cemetery. Randi Renee Atnip Dossett age 38 of Smithville passed away Sunday April 5, 2026, at her residence. She was born September 22, 1987, to her parents the late Thomas Edward and Sonya Renee Young Atnip. She was a Caregiver and worked at fast food facilities. She is survived by two children, Emery Renee Dossett and Zayden Ray Dossett; siblings, Amanda Atnip, Adam Thomas Atnip, Charlie Edward (Crystal) Atnip, Jason Thomas (Tristan) Atnip; several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive. A memorial service will be held 1PM Monday April 13, 2026, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be held Monday April 13, 2026, from 10:AM until the time of the service at 1:PM. John Michael Clark passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion to his family. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and brother whose life was marked by kindness, strength, and unwavering commitment to those he held dear. John was born with cowboy boots on, he grew up farming and learning to rope and ride. He was a rodeo calf roping champion, spent all his life working the farm, which he learned from his father, passing down this legacy to his children and grandchildren. John worked at Warren County Livestock, and everyone there was like family to him, and will always be remembered for his passion as a cattleman. John is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Clark, who stood by his side through all of life’s seasons. He was the cherished son of Audrey and Perelene Clark, and a dear brother to Melba Clark and Reta Clark. He was a proud and devoted stepfather to Tammy Palmer (Jim), Tina King (Daniel), and Tisha Emberton. His family was his greatest joy, and he took immense pride in each of them. John’s legacy continues through his grandchildren, Kyra Travers, Michele McCollough, Taylor Cross, and Tiffany Velazquez, as well as his great-grandchildren, Jude Travers, Joel Woolsey, and Titus Cross. Each of them carries forward a piece of his spirit, love, and values. John will be remembered for his steady presence, his generous heart, and the deep love he had for his family. He leaves behind a legacy that will continue to live on in the lives of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered. Eldon Lee Vanatta age 81 of Smithville passed away Sunday, April 5, 2026, at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital. She was born on December 21, 1944, to her parents Eldon and Jessie Lee Williamson George. She was the oldest of four siblings. She grew up on Liberty Hill Road in Wilson County. Eldon Lee loved farm life and being with her family and neighbors. Eldon Lee also enjoyed all her school years. She was valedictorian of the graduating Class in 1963 at Liberty High School. She was married to Shirely Robert Vanatta for 63 years after meeting on a blind date. Kim, their only child, came along in 1964. She worked several years for the DeKalb County School system. First, as an aid at Smithville Elementary, and then as the cafeteria manager at DeKalb Middle School. She loved working and being around children. Eldon loved to plant flowers, cross stitch, canning fruits and vegetables, and decorating her home for all the different seasons. She loved her church family at Indian Creek Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for several years. Lastly, she loved to talk about her pride and joy, her grandson Derek and his wife Kylie. She was extremely proud of them both. She was preceded in death by her parents Eldon and Jessie Lee George, her sisters Janette (Jim) Moss, Gearline (Garlin) Jones and her brother Melvin George. She is survived by her husband Shirley Robert Vanatta; daughter, Kim (Richard) Young; grandson, Derek (Kylie) Young; nephews, Randy and Greg Moss along with their families. She is also survived by many friends, co-workers, church family and neighbors. Funeral services will be 4 PM Thursday, April 9, 2026, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Ric Lee and Bro. Nicholas Brad Corley, 45, died peacefully on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Alive Hospice Murfreesboro after a short battle with cancer. He was born and raised in Alexandria and was a 1998 graduate of DeKalb County High School. He left his family with a testimony of salvation two days before his death. He said that the Lord without a doubt spoke peace to his soul the previous day. The son of Kenneth and Vicki Corley, Nick is preceded in death by his dad Kenneth, his grandparents, Ned and Edna Corley, Sherwood and Helen Burt, John D. Parsley, and 2 aunts and uncles. Nick was a forklift driver for Autokiniton. Nick is survived by his Mother Vicki Corley, sister Erica (Dusty) Bradley, two nieces Chloe and Alyssa Bradley, and his girlfriend Leah Courson. Also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, coworkers, and friends who loved him dearly. Nick sure loved his Mama, Nanny, and nieces. He was a friend to all. Funeral services will be 4 PM Monday, April 6, 2026 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Dusty Bradley officiating and burial will follow in Hillview Cemetery in Alexandria. Georgie Cripps age 95 of Alexandria passed away at her residence Monday, April 1, 2026. She was born September 30, 1930, to her parents the late Herbert and Vada Hayes Hendrixson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas "Tom" Cripps; sisters, Brownie Jean Curtis and Mattie Jo McGinnis. Ms. Georgie lived a selfless life loving the Lord and serving others. She was a life-long member of Elizabeth Chapel Baptist Church and was homemaker. She is survived by her daughter, Tammye (Gary) Whitaker of Lebanon; grandchildren, Matthew (Lindsey) Whitaker of Carthage and Tyler (Rebecca) Whitaker of Lebanon; five great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday April 4, 2026, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bill Robertson and Ben Johnson officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Matthew Tyler Whitehead age 30, passed away in Putnam County, Thursday April 2, 2026. He was born December 20, 1995, to his parents, Jeffery Matthew and Della Ann Allen Whitehead. He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Marshall Matthew Whitehead and Earl Allen; cousin, Isaac Bowman. Matthew was a factory worker. Tara and Sheldon got to visit with Outreach Day School on Tuesday morning. They always love going and visiting the kiddos and teachers. They also got to visit with our Charlie and Maddie Mae! Debbie Lanora Patrick, lovingly known as “Mimi,” passed away on Friday, March 28, 2026, in Nashville, Tennessee, at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Debbie was a devoted homemaker whose greatest joy in life was caring for her family. She will be remembered for her warm heart, gentle spirit, and the deep love she poured into every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. Being “Mimi” was her proudest role, and she embraced it with unwavering devotion, kindness, and grace. She was preceded in death by her mother, Theiry Greathouse, and her brother, Allen Greathouse. Left to cherish her memory are her beloved son, Robert Patrick and his wife Kari of Smithville; her sister, Andra Pedigo and her husband Tim of Smithville; and her seven treasured grandchildren: Topanga, Kobe, Braxton, Keirra, Westlyn, Jessie, and Luka, all of Smithville. She is also survived by her dear nieces and nephews: Seirra and (Joseph) Hummel, Terra and (Patrick) Cunningham, and Seth and (Amanda) Pedigo, along with extended family and friends who will miss her deeply. Debbie’s legacy is one of love, family, and quiet strength. She touched the lives of many through her compassion and selflessness, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Susan Denise Maynard age 56 of Liberty, passed away Saturday morning, March 21, 2026. She was born July 1, 1969 in Smithville to her parents, Homer Estes, Jr. and Susie Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Estes and two sisters, Trena Barrett and Dianne Horn. She attended the Kingdom of Jesus Church and was a caregiver. She is survived by three children, Joshua Baxter of Centertown, Kayla Miller of Liberty and Justin Estes of Smithville; seventeen grandchildren, Cora, Ryry, Tydus, Bailey, Braxton, Bella, Brooklyn, Bayla, Bethany, Harley, Haiden, Haisleigh, Justin, Ryder, Ember, Diesel and Chevy; sister, Christie Keaton of Liberty and several nieces and nephews.
