On Monday 9/29/2025, Dekalb EMS participated in a mock scenario training with Air Evac. These trainings are crucial to assure that in a real incident things go smoothly when seconds count. We are thankful for the relationship we have with all our emergency services whether by air or ground! We would also like to thank Dekalb County Fire Department for use of their Landing Zone and for keeping all safe through the training.

Sometimes we don’t know the outcome of our efforts, but we are always glad when one is shared with us. This is shared with permission from the patient. This why we do what we do! “Monday morning a little before 7 AM I fell hard getting out of bed. If not for the EMS and Sheriff's team I would have bleed out and died. My Apple Watch detected the fall and set the rescue squad in motion. I cannot thank them enough for their swift response, professional medical care and evacuation. I would also like to acknowledge Vanderbilt's LieFlight for getting me to the Vanderbilt E/R so fast.”

This evening at 4:53 pm, Dekalb EMS responded to an incident at a construction site in the Johnson Chapel area involving 3 individuals. Mutual aid was provided by White County EMS along with Smithville-Dekalb County Rescue Squad. Please keep these individuals in your thoughts and prayers. We are grateful for the relationships we have with emergency services in surrounding counties and within our own county that don’t hesitate to step in when needed.
