Contact Lenses- I have seen discussion on the news and on Facebook about the safety of wearing contact lenses and the spread of infection.

If you have the option of glasses or contact lenses, it would seem obvious that glasses are the better choice. If you do choose to wear your contacts, then proper hygiene is always important.

Thorough hand washing with soap and warm water prior to handling your lenses, proper disinfection of your lenses (a clean case, don't reuse disinfecting solutions, follow your recommended wearing schedule), and removing your lenses immediately with any signs of irritation,redness or blurry vision are ways to promote safe contact lens wear.

Our office is open to take calls and to see emergent and urgent eyecare needs (we are not seeing routine visits). One of our goals is to divert people from the ER, Urgent Care centers or medical offices where the risks of exposure are greater and to reduce the burden on these facilities as they cope with increased visits.

Following CDC guidelines, we are not seeing patients for routine care. We are taking calls and seeing urgent or emergent cases. If you have loss of vision, eye pain, injury or infection please call 615-597-2255.

If you need contact lenses or glasses dispensed, please call ahead and we will arrange curbside dispensing or mail your lenses to your home.

In an effort to support our country and in the best interest of our staff and patients we will be seeing emergencies only. Eye infections, eye injuries, or loss of vision are all conditions that need to be evaluated.
