Your generous support allows our state’s chapter of Postpartum Support International to train mental health professionals in perinatal mental health, and to connect families in need of support with local providers. I am deeply honored and humbled to be the recipient of the Kitty Esterly, MD Health Equity Champion Award at today’s DHMIC Summit.

As a licensed professional counselor, I’ve dedicated my work to amplifying the voices of girls and women who often feel unseen, unheard, and underserved—especially in communities where access to mental health care is not just limited, but sometimes nonexistent. This award is not just a personal milestone; it’s a reminder of the importance of equity, compassion, and advocacy in the work we do every day.

Dr. Kitty Esterly’s legacy as a fierce advocate for maternal and child health inspires me to continue creating spaces where healing is possible, identity is preserved, and the dignity of every woman is protected.

Thank you to the Delaware Healthy Mother and Infant Consortium for this recognition. I share this honor with every woman who has entrusted me with her story, and with every professional who is working tirelessly to advance equity in health and healing.

Let’s keep doing the heart work!

It is always an honor to stand in the gap, promote awareness and to educate the masses. My faith is no different. Thank you Rep. Madinah Wilson-Anton for allowing me to share this space in representation of the Muslim community as we observe this holy month of Ramadan. This moment was a testament of how Islam can fill so many with peace from all walks of life.
