Deadlifts aren’t dangerous. Poor programming is.
I hear it all the time—
“Deadlifts are bad for your back.”
But the evidence doesn’t support that.
And in the clinic? Neither do I.
What I actually see:
👉 Load that exceeds capacity
👉 Progressions that are rushed (or nonexistent)
👉 People being told to avoid instead of being coached to adapt
We don’t fix injuries by removing movement.
We fix them by building tolerance to it.
Stop fearing the lift.

Hip stability. Foot stability. Proprioception.
This is where performance and injury resilience intersect.

If the foot can’t sense and adapt to the ground, the hip has no stable foundation to produce force. If the hip can’t control position, the foot gets overloaded trying to compensate. Somewhere in that chain—efficiency drops and injury risk rises.
