🩵 A Note from Nurturing Waves Doula 🩵
My time, energy, and presence are deeply valuable—and I give them fully to my clients.
Supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum is not “just a job” to me. It is work I show up for with my whole heart. I adjust schedules, extend contact hours, rearrange family time, and often miss personal milestones to ensure my clients feel supported and cared for during one of the most vulnerable seasons of their lives.
At the same time, I want to gently acknowledge something important:
Doulas are human.
We have families, bodies that need rest, and lives that also require care. We support multiple clients at once, respond to unpredictable birth timelines, and prioritize labors, inductions, and urgent needs as they arise—often behind the scenes.
Over the past months, I’ve realized that in order to continue offering the quality of care my clients deserve and remain sustainable, I must strengthen my professional boundaries. This includes clearer prioritization of births and inductions, followed by prenatal and postpartum visits, and more defined availability overall.
This shift doesn’t come from a lack of passion—it comes from protecting it.
My commitment remains the same: to provide compassionate, skilled, and present support. These boundaries ensure I can continue showing up fully, without burnout, and with the grounded care that this work requires.
Thank you to those who trust, respect, and value the heart behind this profession. Your understanding allows doulas like me to continue doing this work for the long haul.
With gratitude,
Casey🩵
