We’re happy to share a construction milestone—our new front door has been installed today. It’s already filling the space with beautiful natural light, and this upgrade will make our community even more efficient, accessible, and easy to navigate. One of our residents, Steve, got to be the first to walk through it—and he approves!

Story: Blake from the Tennessee Health Department visited this afternoon with a fun brain game that our residents loved. Activities like this help stimulate thinking, support memory, and give a meaningful boost to intellectual wellness — especially for those living with dementia or memory changes.

This afternoon a resident requested a little country music—and of course, we turned it up! Before long, he was ready to dance, and one of our sweet family members stepped in to share a dance with him. Moments like these make our community feel extra special.

Michele with Monkeys Creations stopped by and brought wreath kits for us to make for the upcoming holiday season. It was such a neat experience — something different that everyone really enjoyed. A great way to kick off the festive spirit!

Today we got to celebrate George’s birthday!
He visits us twice a week and has truly become part of our community, so it was special to gather for a little lunch celebration. We enjoyed Domino’s pizza and topped it off with his favorite treat — orange sherbet. A sweet afternoon for a very sweet guy!

Activity: Veteran's Day Recognition

Story: Yesterday, we honored our community’s veterans with a heartfelt reception and the presentation of ornaments recognizing their military branches. Together, we spent the day reminiscing about loved ones who served, poring over cherished photographs that commemorate their sacrifices, and acknowledging the profound contributions of veterans’ wives.

We opened with a prayer, followed by a stirring performance from The U.S. Coast Guard Band. Their marches and patriotic music filled the room as a slideshow played on the big screen, guided by our resident veteran, Mr. Alton—a Bronze Star recipient. When “Army Strong” rang out, the gathering erupted in spontaneous applause, with many offering heartfelt thanks for his courage and sacrifice.

Two of our own staff members were also recognized for Veterans Day. Assistant Health and Wellness Director Denise Williams and CNA Dantrielle Riviere were presented with ornaments honoring their service. Both proudly served in the United States Air Force, and Denise went on to continue her career in the United States Army after completing her service to the Air Force. Thank you both for serving.

We sipped on Shirley Temples while watching a Shirley Temple movie — a sweet reminder of simpler times and cherished memories. The familiar scenes and cheerful spirit of Shirley brought back a sense of comfort and joy to the afternoon.
