A stroll down memory lane…

Our Garden Villas residents enjoyed a heartwarming afternoon exploring the history of dolls—from the 1800s to today! Our activity staff led a beautiful presentation, sparking stories, smiles, and sweet memories.

Residents brought their own cherished dolls to share: Ann’s Shirley Temple doll with hand-stitched clothes, Sandy’s Toni doll with perm-able hair (yes, really!), and Mary’s beloved baby doll that looked just like her own child.

It was a day filled with laughter, meaningful conversations, and of course… delicious donuts!

All aboard for a day full of memories, laughs, and delicious food!

Our Garden Villas residents took a nostalgic trip to Union Station, and what a journey it was! We kicked things off with a tasty lunch at The Train Shed—think fried mac & cheese (yes, it was as good as it sounds), Margherita pizza, and smash burgers that had us all smiling.

For many, it had been over 20 years since their last visit, making every moment extra meaningful. And of course, no perfect day is complete without dessert... so we made a sweet stop at World’s Fair Donuts!

From trains to treats, this outing was one for the memory books!

In honor of Girlfriends Day, we’re celebrating the meaningful bonds our female residents share through the clubs, hobbies, and friendships they hold dear.

At Delmar Gardens Independent & Assisted Living communities, many of our residents stay actively involved in groups like the Red Hat Society, Bunko, Quilting Circles, Church groups, YMCA socials, and more—and we love hosting these gatherings right here in our communities at no charge.

Whether it’s a club meeting or just a friendly luncheon with girlfriends, we’re proud to provide the space and pleasantries for connection, laughter, and lasting joy. 💕

And don’t worry, gentlemen—we roll out the same warm welcome for your clubs and causes too! Today’s just a special nod to the power of female friendship in honor of Girlfriend's Day.

☀️ Scenic drive + sweet treats = the perfect day at Garden Villas North! 🍦

Our residents soaked up the sunshine with a lovely ride through Old Town Florissant, making a must-stop at Doozles Frozen Custard for a swirl of delicious nostalgia! The smiles were as sweet as the sprinkles as we enjoyed our treats on the outdoor patio.

Next stop? A little local history! We visited the beautifully restored Cougot Log Cabin, where many residents shared childhood memories of passing by it on their way to the park. ❤️

From frozen custard to stories of the past, it was a heartwarming day filled with laughter, connection, and community.

Fire Truck Fun at Delmar Gardens South!

A big THANK YOU to the incredible Mehlville Fire Department for rolling in with their shiny trucks, life-saving gadgets, and even an ambulance for our residents to explore!

From stepping inside the fire engine to learning about all the tools and tech that keep our community safe, our residents had an absolute blast—and yes, a few sirens may have sounded!

The smiles, laughter, and hands-on fun made for a day to remember. We’re so grateful for our local heroes and the joy they brought to our community!

Who says Christmas only comes once a year?

At Delmar Gardens South, we brought the merry and bright right into the middle of summer with our Christmas in July Extravaganza!

From jingle bell jams by the amazing J Monet Trio, to sparkling punch, cookies, festive attire, and even a surprise visit from Santa himself (a jolly resident in disguise)—our celebration was full of cheer!

And the best part? The adorable kiddos from Delmar Gardens South Early Childhood Center joined in the fun, adding even more joy to our holiday in the sun.

Our residents were glowing with gratitude and holiday spirit—because any excuse to celebrate with friends and family is a good one!

Scenic drive + up-close Bison = a wildly good time at Delmar Gardens South!

Our residents soaked up the sunshine and fresh air this month with a trip to Lone Elk Park—and the bison did not disappoint! They strolled right alongside our bus like they were part of the tour.

We even caught a glimpse of the newest little bison on the block! There’s just something special about getting out, exploring nature, and sharing laughs with friends.

🎄☀️ Christmas in July at Delmar Gardens of Meramec Valley! ☀️🎄

July was bursting with summertime spirit as we put a festive twist on the season with our “Christmas in July” celebration!

We kicked things off with Armchair Travel Tuesday, jetting “down under” to New Zealand—the country that made this fun tradition famous! Then it was time for our Beachy Christmas Bash Social, complete with tropical island centerpieces, piña coladas, Christmas-inspired ice cream, and even reindeer snacks.

And what’s Christmas without music? Our residents belted out their favorite holiday tunes during a lively Christmas Karaoke session that had everyone smiling from ear to ear.
