Your Toothbrush Holder

This one surprises a lot of people.

Your toothbrush holder can be one of the germiest spots in the bathroom.

Think about it:

• Toothpaste buildup
• Water sitting at the bottom
• Dust
• Bathroom bacteria from flushing

All of that collects in one small space… right where you store your toothbrush.

Cleaner Tip:
Wash your toothbrush holder once a week with hot soapy water or run it through the dishwasher if it’s dishwasher-safe.

If water sits in the bottom, dry it before putting your toothbrushes back.

Pro Cleaner Reminder:
Even if the bathroom looks clean, bacteria loves moist areas that don’t get cleaned often.

Good information on your microfiber cloths.

When It’s Time to Toss Your Microfiber Cloth

Microfiber works because of structure — not hope 🥴

It’s made from ultra-fine synthetic fibers (usually polyester + polyamide) that are split during manufacturing.

Those split fibers create microscopic hooks and channels that:

• Grab dirt
• Trap grease
• Absorb liquid
• Lift soil off surfaces

That structure is the magic.

But here’s what happens over time:

1️⃣ The fibers break down.

Heat, friction, and repeated washing cause the tiny split fibers to:

* Fray
* Flatten

When that happens, the cloth feels:

* Rough
* Less fluffy
* Stiff
* Less absorbent

And once the structure is damaged… it can’t grip soil properly anymore.

2️⃣ They get permanently clogged.

Grease, product residue, and minerals from hard water build up inside those fibers.

If the cloth feels:

* Slick instead of grabby
* Like it’s pushing water around instead of absorbing it
* Like it’s just smearing instead of lifting

It’s no longer cleaning effectively.

It’s just… participating 🥴

3️⃣ It starts working against you.

Worn-out microfiber:

* Leaves streaks
* Redistributes grease
* Reduces cleaning efficiency
* Makes you scrub harder

And if you have to scrub harder, the cloth has failed you.

We do not keep toxic relationships in this house 🤪

Signs It’s Time to Retire It:

✔ Feels rough instead of soft
✔ Absorbs poorly
✔ Leaves streaks consistently
✔ Smells even after proper washing
✔ Looks flattened or thinned out

Microfiber is powerful.
But it is not immortal.

When the fibers lose their structure, they lose their performance.

At that point, you’re just holding a very determined rag. 😂

Thank it for its service.
Demote it to garage duty.
