šŸ§’šŸ‘¶ If you’ve ever worried about how your child will take to a new baby joining the family- you’re not alone. This is often a concern parents have with adding a sibling into the picture.
Thankfully, there’s books for that! Books are a great way to connect with your child and explore those ideas and feelings about adding a baby. I have read quite a few, but these two are my favorites.
šŸ“š ā€œYou Were the Firstā€ by Patricia MacLachlan describes all of the firsts that parents typically experience with their first born. The first one to laugh at the dog, put their toes in the sand at the beach, the first to crawl and sleep in the special bassinet. It mentions that there may come a time when other babies experience those things too, but they will always be the first.
I think this beautiful book does a great job reminding your child that they will always hold a special place as the ā€œfirstā€ and it allows them to be proud of those moments but make space for others to come along and experience things too.
šŸ“š ā€œDarcy and Gran Don’t Like Babiesā€ by Jane Cutler may sound counterintuitive, however, I think it’s a great opportunity to explore the idea that you may not be happy about someone else coming into the family. In this book Darcy becomes a big sister and says she doesn’t like the baby… and Gran agrees with her!! The two of them adventure through the day and realize all of the great things Darcy is able to do because she’s older (like swing or the big slide) and Darcy appreciates that she has someone to confide in and understand her while other adults tell her, ā€œyes you do like the babyā€. By the end you get to see both Darcy and Gran reshape their thoughts a little bit towards enjoying the baby- but this is a great book for big siblings who are having a harder time adjusting!

Have you ever read these books? Or what are your favorite sibling books? I’d love to know!

Happy Tuesday!
It’s Amy (postpartum doula) today to show you one real-life way that the women of The Well work together and how you might work with us too!!

While preparing for an outdoorsy trip, I (Amy) knew we would need some extra additions to our first-aid kit for things we do not normally encounter (think…poison ivy šŸƒ, twisted ankles 🦶, and those 😳 uh-oh gotta go šŸ’© moments!)

I spoke with Erin (the Homeopath Educator of The Well) and sent her my lists of concerns that I wanted to be prepared for while out in the wilderness. She carefully went through my concerns and sent me back a curated list of exactly what to get, what it was for, and how to use it. She directed me to the website where I could easily find every medicine that was recommended.
Then I placed my order and it was quickly at my doorstep!

Now we can confidently spend time in the outdoors and not have to second guess whether or not we’re prepared šŸ•

I love having this option through Erin to know that I’m supporting my family 🌟 WELL 🌟 and to empower our bodies to fight off ailments the right way! It’s a win-win for everyone.

Tell me- who else can’t sleep a wink on an air mattress or in a tent?! Luckily- there’s a remedy for that!!! 😓 Contact Erin for more!

Hello again!!
Serving families as a postpartum doula was one of the highlights of my life, but it was necessary to put that on hold while my own family continued to grow. I still have such a strong passion for supporting families but I have been unsure how to channel it and in what capacity I can be available to serve…until now! God has placed the most beautiful and like minded women in my life and together we have decided to join forces!! Please consider ā€œlikingā€ our page and following along . We are a team of Jesus loving, women and family supporting, community serving, and knowledge sharing women, and I cannot wait to work together with them supporting and equipping women to live WELL.

Six months postpartum.
Half a year since these sweet beginning moments.
How does time go so fast for some things?
Motherhood changes you. You change shape physically, emotionally, and spiritually. You grow, you learn, you fall hard (in love and in pain, at times), and you show up each day a little wiser.

Hopefully the next six months will bring even more wisdom, the Lord knows that I’m needing it! @ Acorn Community Birth and Wellness Center

Yes! Seeing a Pelvic Floor Specialist was the biggest part of my healing after baby #3!

Going to a physical therapist (PT) after pregnancy and childbirth isn’t standardized care in America, but it absolutely should be.I sat down with three therapists at Body Connect Health & Wellness (where I get treatment) to learn more about why every mom should check in with a pelvic PT at
