“My best me”

My name is Jan Abbott, LPC, CPCC practicing under Abbott’s Counseling & Life Coach Solutions, LLC. I attended the Agricultural College (Mississippi State University) , where I earned my first degree, Bachelor of Social Work (BSW). I began my journey of helping others and advocating for disenfranchised families at that time. After practicing social work for six years, I saw an even greater need with individuals suffering with mental health. I then returned to college and began my quest to earn a Master's degree in Mental health Counseling, which I received from Capella University. Since that time I have been working with a diverse population within a therapeutic arena, to combat, cope with, and extinguish a wide variety of mental health issues.

I have done therapy with thousands of clients with great passion and success rates. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia. I have a great success rate with clients, especially those who are resistant or unaware what changes are needed in their lives. I have a wealth of experience working with individuals, groups, couples, and families within a therapeutic framework. I have a history of working in interdisciplinary teams, to include; doctors, lawyers, juvenile justice, case managers, court liaisons, psychiatrist, psychologist, therapists, and other community partners to meet the needs of a very diverse clientele. I have the uncanny ability to use an array of innovative plans, therapy styles, and resources to develop ideal solutions for many therapeutic, community and systematic problems in order to empower a vast client base.

In 2015, after completing the required post master’s work, I decided to share my wealth of knowledge in the mental health field as a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS). No one knows like myself the deficits in true clinical knowledge being handed down to today’s clinicians. With that being said, I made it my duty to ensure that all clinicians providing mental health care to Georgia’s citizens is appropriate, ethical, and cutting edge, with emphasis on dignity, unconditional positive regard, and self-care of the clinician themselves.
