✨ Meet Andrea Parady, MS, LMFT✨

Andrea is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a PhD student in the Medical Family Therapy program at ECU. She provides integrated behavioral health care here at the health department, along with traditional therapy services for our existing patients.

She is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a specialized treatment for trauma, and works with individuals and families experiencing a wide range of concerns including sleep difficulties, stress, nutrition and exercise challenges, depression, anxiety, ADHD, Autism, and trauma.

Originally from Utah, she recently made the move to North Carolina and has loved calling it home! Outside of work, she enjoys crocheting, playing piano and singing, camping, hiking, dancing, volleyball, puzzles, video games, and propagating houseplants.

We are grateful to have her serving our community and supporting the health and well-being of those we serve 💚

On the afternoon of Friday, March 20th, our GCDPH team had the opportunity to go over to Kinston and tour the Recovery Together Center and receive naloxone training.

Every second counts in an overdose emergency—and now, more of our staff are equipped with the knowledge and tools to help save a life. 💙

We’re grateful for strong community partnerships and the work being done every day to support recovery and prevention.

Please join us in congratulating Paige Bishop and Suzanne Henning on completing the NC Credentialed Public Health Nurse Program (NCCPHN). Their dedication to growth, excellence, and serving our community continues to make a meaningful impact, and we are so proud of them both! 💙

The NC Credentialed Public Health Nurse Program (NCCPHN), the first of its kind in the nation, ensures that all NC public health nurses working in state or local governmental public health agencies have access to current evidence-based information on the public health nursing specialty scope and standards of practice. The goal of the NCCPHN course is for participants to demonstrate the foundational knowledge, skills, attitudes and judgements associated with the roles and functions of governmental public health nurses. The benefits of completing this course include enhancing the PHN’s ability to apply the public health lens to their nursing practice by increasing their capacity to use both the medical and public health models in their daily practice.
