I do not do this nearly enough, but I would like to thank all of you who have seen it fit to call this office your office and to call me your dentist. I am so far from a perfect anything, including dentist, that I am humbled daily by the wonderful patients I have! The office has grown to become so much more than I could have ever hoped for at the beginning. I am grateful for God’s blessings through the years and pray for his continued guidance.
Of course, the office would not be able to function nearly as well as it does without our wonderful staff. I would like to thank each member for the tireless hours they put in. Thank you to Leah L for the 2+ years of excellent receptioning. Such a pleasant person to work with. Thank you to Leah P for the countless hours of work behind the scenes dealing with insurance companies. Sierra is a dental assistant who has been with us for several months now. Thank you for the many things you do in the course of a day to keep us on track.
I would also like to introduce our newest member, Anna. Anna is a dental hygienist and has been with us for only a little over one week. Already though she has added a wonderful new dimension to this office!
Thank you all, both staff and patients. I am truly grateful.

I am writing this to clarify a few issues regarding our office in this time of COVID-19. It came to my attention today that a few complaints/reports were made that our office was “operating as usual." It is impossible to know if this complaint was made maliciously by someone trying to do harm or was made out of ignorance by someone who saw cars in the lot and believes we are to be completely closed. Either way I felt the need to clarify:
1. We ARE OPEN. If you are having a problem or experiencing pain please call 814-387-6841-we are here for you.
2. We are only seeing emergency cases as set forth by the department of health guidelines. We have not scheduled anyone for a cleaning or basic restorative or any other elective procedure for many weeks now. We are down ¾ of what a normal day used to look like. We are taking each patient’s temp before treatment starts and in addition to the customary disinfection/sterilization of all operatory surfaces and instruments, we are also wiping all common surfaces (door k***s ect) between each patient to ensure there is no cross contamination in these areas.
3. We will notify via phone and through this message board when we have the approval to resume treating non-emergency patients.

If you could see and hear the expression of gratitude when we are able to treat someone in pain it would drive home the importance of remaining open for these cases. If you hear rumors or gossip we would appreciate if you would help educate and inform as this sort of thing helps nobody-not our office and certainly not those people who need treated. We are all in this together and Lord willing we will all soon be out of this together!

Today, after receiving significant pressure from the Pennsylvania Dental Association and push back from dentists and patients alike, the Pennsylvania Department of Health reversed its most recent guidelines that had effectively shut every dental office in Pennsylvania for the past week. As of today, dental offices, including ours, are permitted to perform non-elective procedures using the standard personal protective equipment (PPE) and following the standard of care guidelines in disinfection and sterilization that we have always used. The previous guidelines required the use of N95 masks and negative pressure operatories, something no dental office in the country is equipped with. I am relieved that these impossible requirements were lifted today and that we can resume treating our patients experiencing problems. If you are having a problem and are not sure if it falls under the umbrella of “non-elective” please call and we will be able to answer that. Additionally, If you google “ADA develops guidance on dental emergency, non emergency care” there is a complete explanation and list. Thank you for your patience and understanding through this. When the powers that be, deem it safe and appropriate to also treat non-emergency patients, we will let you know. – Dr. Pecht
