📢 Important Update: Colon Cancer Screening Age is Now 45

If you are 45 or older, you are now eligible for a life-saving colonoscopy.

Colorectal cancer often has no symptoms in its early stages, which is why screening is so vital. By catching polyps before they turn into cancer, we can stop the disease before it starts.

At Caribou Medical Center, our general surgery and endoscopy teams make the process as smooth and comfortable as possible.

✅ Did you know? Most insurance plans now cover screenings starting at age 45.

Give our clinic a call to discuss your options and get scheduled. Your future self will thank you!

It only takes 60 seconds once a month to stay ahead of testicular cancer. 💜

Because it’s Testicular Cancer Awareness Month, we’re reminding all the men in our community to perform regular self-exams. Most cases are found by patients themselves—not doctors—which means you are your own best advocate.

Notice a lump, swelling, or pain? Skip the "wait and see" approach and schedule a quick check-in with your CMC primary care provider.

💙 They say 40 is the new 30, but when it comes to your health, 45 is officially the new 50.

The guidelines have changed: Colon cancer screenings now start at age 45. If you’ve recently celebrated that milestone birthday, it’s time to put a colonoscopy on your to-do list.

Why the change? We’re seeing a rise in colorectal cancer in younger adults, and the good news is that this is one of the most preventable cancers when caught early.

Don't wait for 50. Schedule your screening at CMC today and stay ahead of the game!

April is Testicular Cancer Awareness Month, and we’re dropping the awkwardness to talk about the facts. Testicular cancer is the most common cancer for men ages 15–35, but here’s the good news: it is over 95% curable when caught early.

The best defense? A 2-minute self-exam once a month.

What to look for:
-Any hard lumps or nodules.
-Change in size or shape.
-A feeling of heaviness in the sc***um.

If something feels "off," don't wait. Our providers at CMC are here to help with a quick, professional evaluation. Early detection isn't just a good idea—it’s a lifesaver.
