The California Pharmacy Board Is Overstepping Its Authority – And Patients Are Paying the Price

The Pharmacy Board of California is taking extreme measures to block access to essential compounded medications like glutathione and vitamin B12—despite their proven benefits and long history of safe use. This overreach is hurting patients who rely on these therapies for chronic conditions, immune support, and overall wellness.

Pharmacists and healthcare providers should be allowed to make individualized treatments available without unnecessary interference. Patients deserve the right to access safe, effective, and physician-recommended care.

My public yet private life of attending Burning Man was honored this year. I work for the 'org' as a medical duty chief. These inscribed glasses celebrate 15 years of blood, sweat, tears, vomit, broken bones and smiles and laughter too. My gift to Black Rock City is offering medicine with empathy and compassion. When we approach a call, it may be that person's worst day ever. What they don't need is judgement. Adults are allowed to make decisions in BRC that might hurt them. Our job is to help clean them up and get them back into the city to continue participating. This is one of the magical components of BRC. I was approached by 3 separate participants this year thanking me for my services. Acknowledgement received.

I finished my annual pilgrimage to Burning Man, where I help run the medical team. The temple is a place to remember, honor, grieve and ultimately release that energy through fire. My brief experience in the fire department is forever part of who I am as a person. I have kept my helmet badge on the dash of my car for years, always visually reminding me of that time of my life.  I had a dream about placing the badge at the temple this year. Symbolically letting go of the past and moving forward in life, not holding on to something that was or could have been. I honor my time in the fire service, I grieve for those who lost their lives and i release any attachments to the past that unconsciously hinder my growth.

Another great weekend training a clinic to do DIY therapy in South Carolina. That smile is also masking a kidney stone I was dealing with while traveling.
