My January newsletter is out. Share with friends and family

We intend to do it, maybe even every time we use them. But washing our combs and brushes really isn’t at the top of any “to-do” list I’ve seen. Even a quick rinse is helpful, but over time brushes, combs, and styling tools tend to develop a buildup of hair-care products.

South Monterey County has a new aesthetician

I have lived in Salinas Valley for over 18 years. I am a mother, wife, sister, friend, cousin, and auntie. I speak both Spanish and English. Most of my clients know me as a massage therapist (Bernadette’s Massage Therapy & Spa) for the last eleven years. In 2015 I became a California licensed aesthetician because I saw the need to add skincare to my practice. South Monterey doesn’t have many practicing licensed aestheticians and there is a need in the community for skincare. Products that are environmental friendly, results oriented, and beneficial to our skin is important to the people here in this area. There certainly are a few aestheticians that are practicing. Most of us including myself still have to travel far for skincare. Most of us shop online for skincare products or go to the local drug store. With the ebb and flow of the seasons here in the valley, I enjoy being, “the jill of all trades.”

I enjoy the creativity of makeup. I became a certified Dinair airbrush makeup artist in 2016. Why Dinair? They have water based makeup that doesn’t clog pores and conceals beautifully while letting the natural skin show. Dinair has an airbrush system that can be for home use.

Just recently in 2018 I became a certified lash artist to meet the demand of this growing trend. I’ve learned that there is more to this craft and so I’m temporarily not offering this service. I do however enjoy learning about it. I am a big believer on lash care and do carry Endure Lash organic cleansing cloths. I will be carrying eyelash care products in the future.

In 2017, I made the decision based on the requests of my clients in Soledad (thank you and your welcome) to find a location to offer my aesthetic services. I was contacted by Erv’s Hair Studio in Soledad. This little gem of an esthetician room was created specifically for an esthetician. It is located in a barbering studio with a welcoming casual atmosphere. The barbers there are highly skilled in their craft. Most importantly they care about the people that come. Here I was able to work to my heart's delight while offering esthetics services to all that come to the studio.
