Today I wanted to share something that has quietly been part of Soothe’s story for the past few years, and something I’m incredibly proud of.

Soothe is a certified business through the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), and we are honored to continue maintaining that certification year after year. Being part of this national network reflects our ongoing commitment to creating a space where every person feels safe, respected, and genuinely cared for.

From the very beginning, my goal was to build more than just a massage practice. I wanted Soothe to be a place where people could fully relax, be themselves, and know they are welcome exactly as they are. This certification aligns with those values and the environment we work to protect every single day.

Certifications like this are still uncommon in the wellness and massage field, especially in our area, which makes it feel even more meaningful to continue representing inclusivity, professionalism, and heart-centered care within our community.

Six years ago today, I unlocked the door to Soothe for the very first time. I’m writing this after a dear friend just sent me a photo and message from that day, and it brought everything rushing back — the excitement, the nerves, and that little “Now Open” sign sitting outside in the snow. I had a dream, a lot of hope, and no real way of knowing just how much this journey would shape my life.

As I step into year seven, I’m feeling deeply grateful.

To my clients — thank you for trusting me with your care, your stories, your healing, and your time. You’ve allowed Soothe to become more than a business; you’ve helped it become a place of comfort, connection, and community.

To my family and friends — thank you for encouraging me when things felt uncertain, celebrating the wins, and standing beside me through every stage of growth.

To the incredible team, past and present — your talent, compassion, and dedication have helped build Soothe into what it is today. I could never have done this alone.

This little space in Solon started with a vision and a leap of faith. Six years later, I’m still humbled that I get to do work I love, surrounded by people who believe in it too.

As I enter in to my second week of being on a headline news diet, it has left me a lot more time to read actual books 😁

My boyfriend brought over “It begins with you” by Jillian Turecki for us to read together, and I have to say that I am so impressed by this book. As the title clearly suggests, it really has a lot of great material on how to have a better relationship with yourself, which then translates over into having better relationships with others.

I usually do best with listening to non-fiction books versus reading the physical copy, but this one is written in a way that makes it very easy to digest. I recommend just taking one chapter at a time.

I’m not affiliated with the author or the publishing house, I just thought I would share in case anybody could use a good pick me up 🥰
