Debbie Uhl, LMT & Craniosacral Fascial Therapy (CFT) provider--

Debbie has been licensed by the State Medical Board of Ohio since 2011 and joined Solon Massotherapy Associates in 2013. She is a 2006 graduate of The Massage Therapy Institute of Colorado, with initial certification in Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Reflexotherapy, and Neuromuscular Therapy. She provided massage therapy for

a wide range of clients at The Manton Clinic in Denver, while maintaining a private practice for 3 years focusing on stress relief, soft tissue pain, postural imbalances, and corporate chair massage. In 2008, Debbie graduated from the Colorado School of Healing Arts with advanced certifications in introductory Manual Lymphatic Drainage and Oncology Massage, including training in Healing Touch and Trauma Touch modalities. Debbie learned the importance of meeting clients where they are on their wellness journey and blending massage modalities to best provide individualized treatment for each client. Returning to Ohio, her studies continued at Cuyahoga Community College for Therapeutic Massage, Ursuline College for Reiki certification, The Ohio College of Massotherapy in Akron for Myofascial Release Therapy, and the Healing Arts Institute in Perrysburg for Oncology Massage, as well diverse online continuing education seminars. Debbie integrated modalities from her extensive training to relieve tension, alleviate stress, and maintain overall wellness so clients, no matter their age or health status, could relax, recover, and thrive. In 2022, Debbie combined her fascination for fascia with a pandemic-inspired renewed awareness of how stress and trauma affect the body by learning The Gillespie Approach - Craniosacral Fascial Therapy. This modality addresses the effects of physical/emotional trauma on the nervous system and soft tissue, helping the body release chronic strain patterns that can lead to diminished function and various health conditions. CFT gently restores the fascial web by regulating the nervous system, helping the body heal itself from the effects of recent or long-standing traumas. Conditions such as oral ties, anxiety, sleep issues, tightness, in-utero/birth complications, stress, dental work, migraines, sinus problems, ADHD, fussiness, and more can be addressed with CFT. This modality is safe for all ages and recommended for infants as soon as possible after birth. Debbie began treating adults and children in 2022 and completed infant training in October 2023. She now makes The Gillespie Approach – Craniosacral Fascial Therapy the primary focus of her massage therapy practice. Address how physical and emotional traumas have impacted you and your children and let me help you with craniosacral fascial therapy. Why you should put your child to work…

You may be thinking we are suggesting chores and giving kids extra jobs to help around the house. But, we are getting kids involved in “heavy work” activities for another purpose.

We’re building the child’s proprioceptive input! Many kids who have ADHD-like symptoms or sensory seeking behavior often need play that requires “heavy work” to calm their body and the brain.

Activities or even certain types of “chores” can send messages to the proprioceptive system helping regulate the child’s behaviors and emotions.

Some “heavy work” activities may include the following:

💪Carry a backpack and fill it with books or collect rocks and branches while on a hike
💪Push a wheelbarrow
💪Shovel snow
💪Jump rope
💪Pick up books

You can use a variety of activities to help the child push, pull, jump or climb.

Clients and Colleagues,

Thank you for your concern and patience this week!

The hail storm that moved through this area on Weds, April 15 luckily did not cause any damage to the Heritage Building / Solon Massotherapy Associates' office. However, many other properties and vehicles were damaged, including mine and those of my loved ones. It's overwhelming having your home, car, and/or business damaged, all at once. Thankfully, we were not injured.

Many people here will be dealing with the additional stress this storm has caused for quite some time as the recovery process now involves insurance companies, contractors, adjustors, and often, increased tension, lack of sleep, and more aches and pains.

Please continue to be kind to yourself and others going through this process in the months ahead. Remember to make your health a priority, focus on what brings you joy, and manage your stress levels in healthy ways. You know I will take that advice! And I will continue to support your wellness plan with my CFT and MT services. (email: info@debbieuhllmt.com)

Recovery will take time, as good things do. But with a bit of grace and goodwill, we will get through it!

Fascia doesn't just cover, like Saran Wrap, but runs throughout the body. It connects individual cavities, bones, organs, tissues, vessels, & nerves, and surrounds every cell. Everything begins in the fascia.
Some researchers now consider it the body's largest organ & others note it is its own unique system.
As a bodyworker, it's my favorite & most intriguing soft tissue/organ/system/framework/communicator/nervous system influencer! ☺

🤩 Yesterday I was gifted this lovely artwork by a young client's younger sibling, who worked ever so diligently on this during the treatment session. I was happy to receive it & proudly display it on my shelf now for all clients, & their siblings, to enjoy! 😍
