Dodged a couple kids on the hill today.
Flat foam sled > Snow tube for your spine 🧠❄️
When you’re sitting on a flat foam sled, your pelvis and spine can stack more neutral instead of sinking into a deep “C” curve like you do in a soft, saggy tube.
That means less flexion on the low back and less stress on discs and ligaments over and over again on each run.
A flatter surface also gives you more control and easier steering, which reduces the sudden spins, whiplash-y twists, and wipeouts that are way more common in inflatable tubes.
So if you love your hill days but want to love your spine too, choose the flat foam sled, keep your core lightly braced, and stack those fun runs without stacking irritation in your lumbar joints.
Flat sleds = better steering control
Snow Tube = more speed, less steering control
