Today we took over Hole 1 at McCullough’s Golf Club in EHT and gave golfers something they didn’t expect—relief.

From tight swings to sore backs, our OT and chiropractic team jumped in to get players moving better and feeling looser before they even finished their first hole. We even raffled off Pro V1s and golf balls to keep the energy high.

Golf should feel good. If pain is limiting your swing, distance, or weekend enjoyment, it does not have to stay that way. Chiropractic care, occupational therapy, and acupuncture work together to reduce pain, improve mobility, and keep you doing what you love—on and off the course.

If you saw us out there today, you already know. If not, come experience it for yourself.

Play better. Move better. Feel better.

Thrive’s very own Dr. Lester Zavala, DC — better known around the practice as “Dr. Z” — took on the 2026 Run MONOPOLY Series Atlantic City Tycoon Challenge this weekend 🏃‍♂️🏅

The challenge included:
🎲 5K (3.1 miles) on Saturday (5/16/2026)
🎲 Half Marathon (13.1 miles) on Sunday (5/17/2026)

Two races. Two days. Three medals earned.

Events like this are a reminder that progress comes from consistency, preparation, recovery, and pushing through challenges even when conditions are not perfect.

At Thrive Sports & Spine, we strongly believe in the importance of movement, recovery, performance, and taking care of the body both proactively and after physical stress. Participating in races like these helps us better understand what active individuals and athletes experience during training and competition.

Following the race weekend, Dr. Z will be utilizing Thrive’s multidisciplinary approach to recovery and continued training through chiropractic care, occupational therapy, and acupuncture to help support recovery, optimize movement, reduce physical stress, and continue preparing for future races and performance goals.

We do not just talk about active lifestyles here at Thrive. We live them too.

OT Equipment of the Week: Foot Gym

Better movement starts from the ground up.

The foot and ankle play a major role in BALANCE, WALKING, & OVERALL MOVEMENT.

Using a foot gym can help improve:
- Ankle mobility (dorsiflexion)
- Plantar fascia
- Calf muscle length & mobility

Easy ways to keep your body moving BEST!

Excellence inside the clinic. Excellence outside the clinic. Same standard, every time.

This card? From a patient who needed to see our Nurse Practitioner days before her Italy trip. Zero availability on the schedule. We made it work anyway.

Going above and beyond isn’t a marketing line — it’s a character trait. And character is what builds a team that ALWAYS WINS.

Shout out to our nurse practitioner who makes healthcare accessible and not stuffy!

Heavy squats. Higher standards. 🏋️‍♀️

Race weekend prep mode 🏃‍♂️💨

Getting my calves ready for a busy weekend with the Normatec compression sleeves before tackling a 5K + half marathon. Recovery and preparation matter just as much as the miles you put in.

Compression therapy can help improve circulation, decrease muscle soreness, and keep your legs feeling fresh before and after training. Pair that with chiropractic care, acupuncture, and rehab-focused treatment, and you’ve got a solid recovery game plan. 👊

Whether you’re training for your next race or just trying to stay active pain-free, taking care of your body is part of the process.

From trying everything… To finally finding relief.

Jerri came to us after trying a variety of treatments without lasting success.
Through a client centered movement based approach, combining Occupational Therapy, and Chiropractic care. We addressed mobility restrictions, muscle imbalances, and movement patterns contributing to her symptoms — not just the pain itself.

Now she’s back to doing what she enjoys without the constant limitation of pain.

Every patient’s journey is different — but the right approach can make all the difference.

If you’re dealing with persistent pain you don’t have to just push through it.

OT Equipment of the Week: Therabar

Simple tool. Big carryover.

The therabar is a great way to build strength through the hand, wrist, elbow, and even the shoulder.

Exercises including wrist flexion/extension radial/ulnar deviations and straight arm bends help improve strength and control throughout the upper extremity.

Why does it matter?

Because strength here directly impacts every day tasks, like gripping carrying opening jars and using your hands efficiently throughout the day.

Small easily accessible tools like this help bridge what we do in the clinic to what you can continue to do at home.

I had the opportunity to visit Sovereign Avenue School for Career Day and Teacher Appreciation Day, and it reminded me exactly why I love being a chiropractor.

Chiropractic is powerful because we don’t always need a fancy office, machines, or a traditional setup to help people feel better.

Sometimes, all we need is a conversation, a good assessment, and our hands. Listening is the biggest take away - the diagnosis is always in the history!

The students were so engaged, curious, and excited to learn. I was honestly impressed by how much they already knew about the spine, the nervous system, and how our bodies work.

I got to spend time with brilliant 7th and 8th graders and the amazing staff, offer consultations, talk through aches and pains, and provide some much-needed relief to the people who spend their days taking care of our kids.
Teachers pour so much into everyone else. It was an honor to give a little bit back.

Thank you, Sovereign Avenue School, for having me. Happy Teacher Appreciation Week to all the educators who show up every day with patience, heart, and dedication.
