🌊👂 Ear pain this summer? It might be swimmer’s ear!

Warm weather means more pool time — but it also means more cases of outer ear infections caused by trapped water. This can lead to inflammation, pressure, and even jaw misalignment.

✅ We can help relieve ear pain by addressing tension in the neck and jaw, improving drainage, and reducing inflammation naturally.

Scoliosis is a condition where the spine curves sideways in an “S” or “C” shape. It can vary from mild to severe and is surprisingly common—especially in children and teens.

Why scoliosis is so common:
Idiopathic scoliosis alone affects about 2–3% of children, especially girls during puberty.
Since the exact cause is unclear, it’s hard to predict or prevent.
Many mild cases don’t cause pain and go unnoticed, making it seem even more widespread when screening picks them up.
Routine screening in schools or at checkups increases detection.

Chiropractic care can play a valuable role in recovery and re-injury prevention:

1. Spinal & Pelvic Alignment
Misalignment in the pelvis or lower back can alter mechanics and overload the hamstrings.
Chiropractic adjustments restore proper alignment, reducing tension on the hamstrings.

2. Soft Tissue Techniques
We often use:
Active Release Technique (ART)
Graston Technique (instrument-assisted massage)
Trigger point therapy
These reduce scar tissue, increase blood flow, and improve muscle healing.

3. Neuromuscular Re-education
Re-training the nervous system to activate the correct muscles.
Helps correct compensations that lead to injury.

Do you spend a lot of your time sitting?

Spending long periods of time in a seated position can lead to your hip flexors shortening.

Your hip flexor muscles—iliacus, psoas, pectineus, re**us femoris, and sartorius—play a vital role in everyday movement, allowing you to lift your knee toward your chest, bend forward and perform actions like walking, running, and kicking. Every step you take relies on these muscles, and they are essential for maintaining balance in the pelvis.

Keeping your hip flexors strong and flexible is key to avoiding discomfort and injury. A strong core and good posture can help maintain hip flexor strength, while regular stretching increases their length and prevents tightness.

If you’re experiencing discomfort in your hips or low back, it may be time for an evaluation. We’re here to help you get back to feeling your best!

Don’t forget to ice! ❄️🧊

Whether you’re dealing with swelling, inflammation, or just need some relief from pain, ice is your go-to. By constricting blood vessels, it helps reduce swelling and provides temporary pain relief by numbing the area.

But remember:

Moderation Is Key!

➡️ Apply ice for 15-20 minutes at a time to avoid skin irritation or tissue damage.

➡️ Never place ice directly on your skin to avoid frostbite! Always use a cloth or towel.

➡️ Give your body a break: wait 30-40 minutes between icing.

Take care of yourself, and don’t forget to ice!
